The biggest reason they canât retain players is because EVE isnât WoW with spaceships, people donât like loss and they canât handle having to read a LOT of information
The average gamer these days needs simple things that are easy to understand like ânumber go up goodâ, they need levels that mean they can just grind and beat anything
This is not EVE and it never will be, niche game has a niche audience and eventually it will have burned through that small number of players and will eventually die, but that is just normal and doesnât mean the game failed, if your niche is 100k and 90k of those people enjoyed the game then thats still a win even if it means once those 100k people have played it the game dies, you satisfied your audience
They are going to push an update when they have something to update, those little patches arenât driving players away they complete in like 30 seconds
I vote none of the above. I said this before elsewhere in the forum. Unless a player finds something they want to achieve in less than the first hour of game play, they wonât stick around. Players need goals and it is up to the player to set their own goals. The user interface at the start is nightmare fuel. All those opened, transparent, and cluttered windows makes the game look more complicated than it is to play. I donât run with much more than 3 windows open.
@Cypherous I donât recall spaceships in WoW but D&D is another story; enjoy and be educated.
Right, but those levels donât mean much when they can be countered, its not just a case of âmy level 50 battleship cannot lose to anything lower levelâ like you would end up with in a traditional level based game where most things are essentially stat checks
This protection also extends to systems in which âCareer Agentsâ are located and as well as to systems associated with The Blood Stained Stars - Sisters of EVE Epic Arc.
Tricking new players into situations where you or others may open fire on them freely
LOL. I was baited into PVP in my newbie days in a Career agent system at the entrance of the academy station. CCP doesnât protect you from anything. Stop with this nonsense.
They do if you report it to them, they arenât going to actively have GMâs cloaked in every possible griefing system to see whats going on and just automatically protect you
They are opted in to the rookie chat by default, in the process of asking what happened any one of the ISDâs in there will direct them to it or fill out a report on their behalf
