It is a scam , but within the rules of the game, hence the warning here in thr forum. I have no issue with CCP or the GMs, this is a WARNING to all players participating in the Hypernet relay.
@Blenden Thank you for the warning, sir.
I don’t really understand how the Hypernet works and there are no clear instructions so I will stay away from it.
It is a raffle. You can buy tickets for the stated price which give a chance to win the item. It is a form of CCP sanctioned and allowed gambling (of which they take their cut ofc). Basically that’s it.
The halmark of a scam. Stay away from it.
Oh, a game of chance. Gambling. I had better stay far away from it then. I have rotten luck.
Don’t have to tell me twice.
Hi! @Sibylla_Gaia_Delphia Nice name!
@Solonius_Rex 4 months later and hypemet is still in game
This is terrible news. I must inform anderson gete-i mean @stefnia_Freir immediately so that they can send a strongly worded mail to CCP in protest.
Anderson was the smartest person in the whole galaxy.
I’ll just drop a couple of general thoughts on the topic:
-
Hypernet in general is a raffle which can be further more tweaked in favor of initial owner by using statistics. You can win occasionally (I once got myself a Machariel for 8kk ISK) but I strongly suggest to only throw ISKs there if you have nothing important to spend them on. Think of it like a loterry (with a bit higher chances since it is max 512 tickets total). If you are a new player - stay away at least until you have enough ISK to not pay aatention to losses.
-
Never accept contracts/invitations that are sent to you unless you explicitly agreed on those with another player (like a fair duel, joining local fleet or a pre-discussed trade). If you see something thrown at you without prior discussion - it is 99% of time a scam.
Hi, @Blenden Thank you for the warning.
It seems like there are more and more scams everywhere, in online games and in real life. Is that a sign that humanity is more and more dragged in abject poverty?
Anyway, I doubt I will ever use the Hypernet. It looks like a scam too.
