I have sold a tier 7 SKINR of an ALLIGATOR on the SKNR Hub market for 1,35 Million isks…
I made an error and missed to input one (stretch.edit) more zero, so the listing correct would have been
1 Bil 350 Million…
The transaction was listed under market transaction but I have no clue who bought it.
I would like to contact him and ask him If I can buy it back, because It was a mistake
on my side, and it would be a quantifiable loss of at least 500 Mil…
But I can not contact him… it would be cool if we creator knew who bought our Skins…
I don’t know what to do, I opened a ticket, to ask for help…
It was a 1 day only listings, and when today, I just realized the error, suddenly someone bought it…
Hell yeah, I would jump in extasy if someone gifted me a 150-170 Plex Alligator Skin…!!
In fact I wanted it for myself, but I realized I had to sell at least one to get one for me
at less than full price… it was part of my NEON line, with Skull engranvings… the top of the top…
I sold a Marshal for 7,500,000 instead of 7,500,000,000.
I sent the buyer a mail congratulating him for the quick purchase and moved on with my EVE life. The moral of this anecdote is learn your lesson and move on.
I was expecting a meme to pop up but this is quite unbeatable XD
I know I know… but I’d like to try, at least you knew who bought it…
I can not even congratulate him… I don’t have this luxury…
(Besides my total loss is 1/6th of my total budget, 7.5 Bil is more than my current budget already,
meaning an error like yours would have completely bankrupted me, and I would have tried everything I could to try repair the error… 1/6th is a hard hit but still not total collapse…)
Hate to say it but you’re screwed. I wouldn’t count on getting it back. Take it as a lesson and remember to count those zeros and read the text amount there to help prevent these mistakes before hitting “ok”.
There are players watching the market just for these types of mistakes.
@Queotzcatl Why call on the Devs? It’s your mistake.
Also, if you hover your mouse over any input amount it will tell you in letters exactly how much you’re dealing with.
Live and learn.
Look, I’m a human being, I made a mistake, all I ask is if there is some kind of
privacy concern for protecting the buyer identity… I see absolutely no reason to conceal the buyer identity as if
the Paragon Hub market was some kind of Pirate Scam Heaven where everyone got to see
the Creator identity but the creators can not see who its buyers are…
My questioning the Devs is all about my ability to see who the buyer is, and then from there
I would move on… I would try to contact him in a civil manner, and ask him if he could
make a donation or something, if not, then it’s ok… I’ll move on…
I Do count zeroes, its the comms that makes me nervous…
How much in tax must this guy have payed???
I don’t think there’s anyone in EVE, not even the bigger Alliance, that can pull together
750 million Plexes… So this listings is just wasted… like mine, but in reverse…
If I’d be investing 1B a day in Plexes for forty years, I would make up 1 million Plexes…
I would need 750 lives to save that sum…
Probably just 1 million or two loss, he’s lucky this is not the usual market,
taxes goes only for items sold, not on the value of the item.
And also taxate plexes seems quite unfeasible.
It looks like the Paragon HUB disconnections and FREEZES might be the culprit here too…
I just realized that there were massive UI freeze tha day I did the listing of my SKin.
EVE completely froze when I was making the listings multiple times. I had to exit and re-enter.
Also quit Eve and restart the client, but the Paragon Hub inside Jita was completely forzed over
and bugged. I could change the Hull of a ship, and edit the design, and the UI would not update the HULL!!! For the rest of the day I could not log back in, and I could not check the listing.
So possibly I also read the right import of 1 Billion and 350 millions, but the UI froze and didn’t record the right import… I don’t know what happened… that day the Hub was completely unplayable and I had to quit and untill late in the next day I couldn’t check back, and then it was too late, when I just realized the error. Do not forget that the listing was up from less than 24 hour, and only few minutes left from finishing…
I will count this as an Internet connection problem, and ask for a refund this way.
It’s the only way and it is 100% true that it happened…
