my car has an option i can switch from (on the digital screen) MPH, or km/h. While it keeps MPH capitalized, anywhere on the LED indicating its km/h or on the digital readout for speed, km’s to empty, average km etc. it is all put out as km/h. 2012 Chevy Equinox LTZ for reference
Quite often the odometer is not even marked with the units they use. Sometimes they have km and sometimes “miles”.
And also a big problem with the car example is that this is not about speed, which is measured in meters per second (m/s) in EVE, but rather about distance readouts that cars don’t have any instruments for at all, save maybe some with cameras and such for reversing.
Hell, I don’t even know what a fighter jet readout would look like, but we can be pretty sure its not quite like an EVE overview. And its a good reason I find this “standardized” discussion a bit annoying. We have about the most non-standard item in the universe, one game’s proximity readout window, and demands it follow a standard created by people who only read on paper, stone, wood and chalkboards.
Just an FYI the first person to bring up speedometers was yourself…
Just an FYI? I don’t think so. That seems much more like an attempt to rekindle bickering.
I do have an apt reply to that, but I am not going to bother, because I don’t want any more pointless bickering thank you very much. Just post better and with a positive purpose will you?
