Hi everyone, I’m looking for a Marauder that will allow me to tackle WH C3 and C4 combat anomalies. I’m thinking of the Vargur. I have access to a Shattered Wormhole. Also, I have no interest in going to C5. Is the Vargur the right choice or not?
Look at the WH stats, damage type, bonuses etc. I just prefer Kronos over any other but it’s up your own preference ofc.
All Marauders can do that easily.
In C3 a Vargur performs pretty good, in C4 the Paladin outperforms it by quite a margin. Not saying the Vargur isn’t usable, it’s just not the top-choice any more.
Basically the higher you go, the better the Paladin becomes since you have a lot of Battleships which it can hit perfectly over all ranges while just smartbombing the Frigs. The benefit of Vargur and Kronos to be able to still hit frigates quite good becomes just irrelevant, but the advantage in pure range/projection trumps everything else.
