So Im trying to do the math for these implants. Wiki says that High grade snake implants set (all 6 parts) gives 24.73% velocity bonus. When i do the math…
full set total velocity (first 5 parts) = 3.75% (without set bonus)
full set total set bonus (with 6th part) = 275%
3.75 x 275% + 3.75 = 14.06
so… where is the other 10% coming from.
Same with all other sets, random numbers seem to appear out of nowhere. Should I not use wiki as a reference or there are other factors that need to be accounted for when doing these calculations.
Step 1: Calculate the set bonus by multiplying the bonuses together. for the complete set it will be 1.15 x 1.15 x 1.15 x 1.15 x 1.15 x 3 = 6.03
Step 2. Multiply the set bonus by each of the individual bonuses to get the implant bonus.
Alpha: 0.5 x 6.03 = 3.015
Beta: 0.625 x 6.03 = 3.76
Gamma: 0.75 x 6.03 = 4.52
etc …
Step 3. Multiply all the implant bonuses together: 1.03015 x 1.0376 x 1.0452 x etc…
EVE math is multiplicative. You always have to convert a y% bonus to a number 1.0y then multiply that with the other bonuses. Careful when you go above 100%; 200% bonus = 3 * for example.
The only time you add percentages is within a skill; if a skill gives 10% per level and you train it to two squares, that’s 10% + 10% = 20% bonus.
Otherwise, when you put together the bonuses from different sources (each skill, each module, each rig, each implant, etc.), you multiply it all together.
Now I have a question. Does the 15% set modifier apply to the implant bonus or do you have to have at least two implants of the set to get the set bonus?
In case of a high-grade slave alpha, is the bonus of the implant 1% or 1.15%?
