Just started playing after randomly stumbling across an ad for EVE.
But I have a serious question, is it true that about 2/3 of the total population/accounts are alts?? And am I more or less forced to have them aswell to be competitive?
So is for example 19k are in game on server right now it is in reality just a few thousand players? How is that a sustainable business model?
maybe. Lots of players have alts. and some will have them logged in at the same time. However some dont.
no. Despite what some may say you can do fine with one account.

Because people have to pay to have those alts subbed, either through real money or PLEX.
Listen, there will be idiots, like that guy from Eve Tutorial Videos, that will say that alts are mandatory -they are not. The do offer advantages, but at the end of the day, player skill is still the biggest factor in determining outcomes.
