Hello, the NPC insurance probably should be removed. For example it causes about 3T inflation each month and it has a low approval rating it seems. On the other hand the in-game tools for player insurance (SRP) should probably be improved.
Last but not least the values displayed in the killmails do not seem to match the actual losses which should probably be loooked into. You are welcome? Have a nice day.
Insurance benefits new players who arenât part of a player corp, donât have access to an SRP program, or who donât have very much ISK to spare.
As far as killmails matching the value of what was lost, they are estimates. Certain things, such as Abyssal modules, have no value assigned to them because there is no way to put a price on them.
So you expect CCP to keep track of which corps offer SRP?
SRP Programs are usually at the alliance/coalition level, not the individual corp level.
Iâm actually in the exception here in my wormhole corp. In any case, SRP is amazingly easy for me. I post my zkill lossmail link in a form. Fairly swiftly, a corp director approves or denies it and ISK does or doesnât appear in my wallet.
I also have the option of NOT applying for srp.
Some years ago I absolutely, royally screwed up piloting an officer fit (doctrine at the time) blap dread.
I spaghettied so bad, i chose not to apply for srp as that was 100% my fault. I was even asked by the ceo why i hadnât filled in my srp request at the time. He appreciated my response as it meant more isk available to pay the other srp requests that came from my screwup.
Quite the opposite, SRP is generally only for organized corporations that fly more advanced ships while insurance is great for players in T1 ships, which is mostly relevant to new players without a good corp.
Insurance and SRP would be a Venn diagram with two circles that barely overlap.
Only T1 dreadnoughts would be in the shared middle.
no, the MER lists ISK in and ISK out.
how does the current insurance mechanic lead to inflation in the overall economy? it doesnât pay out the value of a ship and its fittings, just a percentage of the mineral costs of the base hull.
youâre the one arguing itâs inflationary, kindly explain how.
Whats so hard to understand According to the MER insurance causes net inflation and its probably because insurance pays out more ISK than players spend on it.
In the grand scheme of EVE economy itâs still a heavy net loss. You may get 6-7m Payout for a hull that costs 40-45m to buy/manufacture. Even more so when it comes to T2 ships.
