Nope. More people need to take it up.
i do hope so
At least that wasn’t directed towards most Capsuleers.
It needs to be large as 50% of all the eve population will be going to live there
I think Concordia would have been a better name or garden of new Eden
‘CONCORDIA’ would be confusing as a name, because the part of space where CONCORD matters is high security space (0.5 - 0.9) and not Exordium
‘Garden of new Eden’ is a nice name fitting the theme and name of EVE, but may have some confusing connotations, like that of a place you would want to stay in, and raise questions about which sin we have to commit to get thrown out, while in fact new players are expected to leave the zone on their own as they outgrow it.
That second name also is doubling down on the religious theme that the name ‘EVE’ already refers to, which might create wrong expectations about the rest of the game which may not be wise to do for a first impression.
Talking about first impressions, the name ‘Exordium’ fits such a role well if you know it’s meaning, which you can probably find online.
I prefer Explodia
Would be nice to see a redesign of the rookie ships to make the fist few steps as a capsuleer a little more epic - maybe a better model, a little better fitting options (careful not to make them op) - but the current batch of rookie ships are a bit underwhelming in terms of clunky aesthetics.
Thinking about names, if CCP keep Exordium then i will use Exo-sec.
But then it’s High-sec Low-sec … who need long names now.
Time for everyone to find these. XD
I read 1.0 as full-sec. ![]()
Not ExSec?
Hmm, I’ll add it to my testing list. So far I got utility testing
I’m just RP’ing in my Miasmos Quafe Ultra Edition jet canning one can of Quafe at a time.
But there are still situations possible in Exordium where you can lose your ship…by means of the tutorial and by mission NPCs at least…not sure if duels also work…or friendly corp fire mechanics…
So it might be a “Full-Sec”, but not a “True Full-Sec”…which i find disturbing…i hope it gets introduced soon…i mean come on, death by NPC? Outrageous!
Dont go there.
Or rage quit and delete, you know, one or the other…
Concern 1) It appears people ( not just noobs ) will be able to mine in Exordium. Cheap minerals, but then with zero risk there’ll just be entire fleets of ‘older’ noobs quite happy to exchange the lower price for risk-free mining. That’s gonna just flood the markets and also cheese off those players who DO take the risks outside of Exordium.
Concern 2) My biggest concern. By making Exordium 100% safe you are eliminating THE most important learning factor for noobs…RISK. It is risk that makes EVE exciting…not accumulating piles of ISK. Remove the risk, and you eliminate a large part of the reason for playing the game. CCP…you know as well as I do that the #1 reason noobs leave the game is not ganking or losing ships…it is boredom. All you are doing with Exordium is making the noob experience MORE boring.
If most newbros leave high-sec to mine in Exordium, then the supply of materials should fall, not rise… No? We already have AFK Orcas in high-sec.
The tutorial awoxes every new player, so newbros do know of the consequences. Introducing risk-free region doesn’t remove risk from the game and risk alone isn’t an effective motivator. And this zone is just a tutorial zone with barely anything in it, warning players older than 30 days that it is time to move on. The jump from Exordium to high-sec, more than doubling mineral value, will be a great lesson in how beautifully EVE’s risk vs reward is balanced.
This isn’t the last update related to newbro experience. The following Military Campaigns expansion will… expand upon newbro experience even further.
This one I gotta see!
I’m not picking on the idea, just how CCP has implanted such changes in the past.
I’d be fine with it if noobs were automatically booted out after 30 days.
Your average noob is not going to know that ore sells for twice as much outside Exordium. And why would he even care ? He can just sit there for months accumulating ISK and skills with zero risk at all.
What are the requirements or pre-requisites (if any) for using a ship caster in Exordium?
I’m wondering if a certain standings level with the relevant empire is a requirement.
Thank you.
