Introducing Exordium!

Full disagree. That takes the freedom away from the game. Thats something that many are us are trying to protect.

Getting automatically booted from an area is a themepark mechanic…which this game is not.

( although its trying to go that way )

Im aware that every game has loopholes, but if youve read the info thats already been released about how the area is going to be monitored…then nobody will be able to just sit there for months in safety and earn piles of isk.

I also think that it wont take long for the new players to figure things out, leave the area all together, and be glad after the fact after they discover the bigger isk trains that are available.

Well if they do the career agents, then they’ll already have some standings toward the faction they choose, and the shipcaster will be restricted to certain ships ( unknown atm)

Is this Exordium place even accessible yet?

If not why have you all got your grundies in such a twist about?

Just calm down and let’s see how it works when it starts working.

No its not.

However you can travel to the manifest gate and check things out. The gate itself doesnt work yet.

So why all the ridiculous carry-on then?

Wait until it’s accessible. See how it works then. Make suggestions then but bear in mind it’s for new players and their suggestions should take precedence.

Heh, i agree…trust me. Ive already been in a few heated discussions about this already.

I would love it if everybody would just hold their opinions until after the release, but we have members here that look at the tiniest aspects of everything, and then drive themselves crazy over it.

Evolvement is a difficult and sinister trait indeed.

May i ask why you don’t have experience from the real world? Or why your experience might be different from mine?

My experience is that once something is established in a way you don’t like, the chances that it is abandoned or changed again are very slim.

That is why usually everyone is called to give your input to representatives in case of unwanted legislation. If you want to change something afterwards you need to do petitions and all kinds of stuff with much higher hurdles and requirements.

So in effect you need to make sure that your objections or suggestion are heard upfront! This is your only chance to maybe have your input considered!

Plenty of experience of the real world mate.

Probably a lot more than you unless you’re in your 70’s

Exordium is for new players.

Unless you are a new player the impact on you will be absolutely minimal.

You “don’t like it”?

Get over it.

Your “representatives”, the CSM, have already had input into the creation of Exordium.

Learn to live with it or leave.

Up to you, just stop panicking

That is to be seen and experienced. Also in the economic reports and in tritanium and pyerite price development.

Exordium is connected to the rest of the universe, you know? What happens there will have direct impact on EVEs economy.

This is no “isolated playground”. Veteran players will do their stuff there as well. While they might be excluded from farming to some extent, they can still participate in the economy there. There will be transport of items in and out. Stuff will be manufactured, bought and sold. All kinds of opportunities and impacts will arise.

“Exordium is connected to the rest of the universe, you know? What happens there will have direct impact on EVEs economy.”

Will it?

If it does, will it be significant?

No one knows at this stage so stop panicking.

If the impact is deleterious on the rest of the “universe” then CCP will take measures to rectify.

As for “Veteran players will do their stuff there as well”

If “Veteran Players” want to do stuff in an environment designed for new players, that is not assisting new players to learn the game, then they are just sad creatures who the game would be better off without.

Your last line finally shows some actual rationality.

“All kinds of opportunities and impacts will arise” - EXACTLY - so wait and see what those opportunities and impacts are and take advantage of them then.

If you look at the attributes of what the new ore refines to, you know what is going to happen. Or don’t you understand?

Of course these might still changes before the thing gets live, but at the current values much profit is to be had in absolute safety.

You don’t even have to mine it, you can surely come up with some cheap buying schemes on the stations and proceed with the minerals how you like.

Everything you write tells me that you don’t do much research and also don’t see the bigger picture. And what i have written doesn’t even come close to cover all aspects.

Deary, deary me dude.

Just calm down.

All of your posts tell me that you are a catastrophist who delights in seeing the “bad” in everything.

You don’t know what is going to happen.

You can hypothesise all you like but if you start off with a bias towards “I don’t like change” your hypothesis will be fatally flawed.

I repeat - calm down.

We don’t know how many of the rocks, or how many units are in each rock, which is an even larger unknown than knowing the attributes of the ore. Even if they are the same number as 1.0 atm, there will be half as much minerals from someone mining them out. Which means a veteran players will at most earn half of what you can in current 1.0 systems. More than likely, there will be even less rocks and even less units in each rock as these are resource depleted systems. But, to the point that others are making, we just don’t know yet.

That could be right of course, that the supply in the roidfields is very limited.
However if it is not limited, then as i have written above, the veteran doesn’t even need to “earn” it by mining…this can just be solved with plenty of methods like buy orders, contracts, corporation projects, freelancer jobs, direct contacting of new players and more.

If the supply is not limited extremely, one could have a cheap workforce at hand if played right.

You broke the skin on a week old $hit bucket.

Have fun with Barney.

Exordium will also have several restrictions and limitations to preserve EVE Online’s balance. These include a curated set of PvE content available, higher taxes, decreased opportunities for value creation for most activities, and blocks that prevent use of player-controlled structures and deployables.

Low Risk, Low Rewards

With the huge variety of content available in New Eden, new players sometimes struggle to find appropriate challenges for their current level.

Within Exordium, all content presented will be achievable for rookie capsuleers. They can experience a wide variety of different activities, including combat, hacking, and mining sites, low-level missions, homefront operations, and more. Difficulty and rewards will be tuned to suit a starter region.

Exordium will also introduce newcomers to the lore and story of New Eden, deepening their immersion in the world.

The ability to curate the content available in Exordium also helps us balance risk with reward. For example, all the ore found within Exordium will be new “tier 0” variants of veldspar and scordite that can be balanced independently.

All hacking sites are also special variants of existing highsec sites with independently balanced loot tables.

Homefront operations will also have a different reward curve with lower overall payouts.

In addition, special taxes will be applied to most taxable activities in Exordium.

The curated content and taxes are intended to create a space where new players can be confident that the content they are presented with has difficulty and rewards appropriate for their level in New Eden, and that more lucrative rewards will be available to them once they’re ready to move into highsec and beyond.

Jita can now be discarded. Exordium shall now be the premier new trade hub.

I am super excited for this actually. The new player experience has desperately needed a revamp for a hot minute. A buffer zone to take some of the steepness off the learning curve is absolutely valid. Keeping the rewards low and the taxes high will make sure its used as intended and not as a safe haven.

And also, new systems to check out in 2026 should be interesting just visually.

The game needs new blood. This addresses a lot of the most common barriers to entry.

100% win IMHO.

It seems you don’t remember earlier market impacts such as “the big shuttle buyout”, “scarcity” and similar changes and their effect on tritanium and subsequent market prices.

Also ironically Yulai once actually was EVEs main trade hub before the “Yulai Gate Shutdown” removed the tradehub highways and the main hub settled in Jita.

What you perceive as minor changes can have unforeseen impact.
