I honestly don’t see any downside. New players have a safe region to get to know the game better (maybe sticking around longer and converting to Omega) while at the same time not being very lucrative

No, anybody can go there. However there will be set stipulations on what a vet can and cannot do.

I understand your skepticism, but GMs do really attend to new players. This new region should make it easier for them.
They don’t seem to have a lot of powers though, don’t think they can actually interact and create content, but they are helping via chat. I know a few players who were messaged by GM.

All I want is a presence to ensure the rules. CCP/FU UK has a bad track record when it comes to trying new ideas. They assume players will follow their lead, but when the game is based on human interaction, the players seem to always find a way to exploit it.

Can confirm. I have created new alts and been messaged by GM’s shortly after with offers of help. I’ve had to explain to them that i’ve been playing since 2009.
I am not arguing against solo players or even for the fact such exists.. Being mostly a trader/exploration. I sometimes fly alone. If you can blow me out of the sky. Shrugs these things will happen from time to time. I may even send you a congratulatory message.
What my reservations are not whether the new player joins a teachie/learnie corp or even joins one at all. It is the cultural shock. Going from a safe area where one can make dumbass mistakes and not really pay the price for. To suddenly flying say a badly fitted or worse having just a couple of modules fitted and thinking no one is going to notice as s/he jumps into Jita. Because the experience shaped in the kiddie pool allowed one to get by with that.
It is this reservation that I have of the new player experience is going to be shaped by being the kiddie pool. Then suddenly swimming in a shark infested waters where you are either the shark or chum. I have real reservations about the kiddie pool idea. Where a mistake outside of the kiddie can and almost certainly will cost a player a ship.
I hope I can be proven gladly wrong. Shoot I am hoping that I will be. That my reservations on this idea was unfounded. But until then I am going to harbor my reservations on this.

I cant count the many many times ive done this and nothing has ever happened to me. Im sure that there are many ships around on that overview either not fitted all the way or not fitted at all. 
Meh, don’t worry I’m sure this will do nothing good for regular folks but everything for griefers.

Why would you wanna steal new players loot?
I wouldn’t, any more, I got better things to be looting, but when I was a new player I was all about stealing loot from anyone I could. I pity the poor new newbs who won’t have this joy until they decide to leave the playpool.

When will it open anyway? Exordium was announced to open at some point well before Fanfest:
Sometime before Fanfest, the new region will open for visits. At that point, players will be able to enter, explore the new space, and check out the new security tier, but the content will not be in there yet.
As far as i know, Fanfest is today and the gate in Yulai is still closed? What’s going on?
Hopefully it means they’ve thought it through and decided to cancel the idea.

So im starting to watch a few streams before fanfest gets into full swing, and the word on the street so far is that they will be rewiring the damaged jita gates to have access to the manifest gate in exordium.

The Amarr FW headquarter, Mehatoor, is closer to the Minmatar republic than the rest of the Amarr Empire, and the route to the latter goes through ganking chokepoints, more of those frequent Insurgency systems, and Ohide which has an A0 (Blue Small-level-of-protection-from-events) star type

I hear your frustration but as long as pilots need ships and equipment I will supply them. You just need to adapt for changing conditions. If not, you become stagnated alone in your pod drifting in space wondering if you made the right choices. Pilots in the safe area will leave and I am sure you and others will be there to greet them when they do. Welcome to the Jungle.
