Introducing Exordium!

Seal clubbing.

Some people just love seal clubbing.

Everyone loves seal clubbing. That’s why every town adjacent to a military post in the United States has 37 million pawn shops, payday loan places, and used car lots…

Makes the First Sergeant maaaaaad. All those new enlisted dumping their paychecks on mustangs and vixens.

It’s a wonder Humanity has made it this far. Teenagers and people in their early 20’s are idiots, especially these days…

Young, dumb and full of cash.

Perhaps humanism and egalitarian beliefs is just a new concept.

Ah, the gospel once again from the mythical “Fozzie” who cannot be arse to post here.

It is obvious that there will be a problem with new players finding it tedious in the extreme to move all their stuff out with the designed mechanisms. New players want to keep what they have just spent a month or so earning from career agents; it is wholly irrelevant if tedious veterans here think that stuff is worthless, it is valuable to the new player. So “Fozzie” says FC will just stick their head in the sand, ignore that they are alienating the very people they are trying to retain, then wonder why Exordium has failed, and maybe, if they can be arsed, change the design. Instead of changing it now, and not crash the car first…

Leave it to FC to come up with something utterly ridiculous, like filaments directly into Exordium…

You all are high on something. I want what you’re smoking. :joy:

Making smoke out of nothing, what a feat.

Yulai is the only entry and exit for now. And perhaps the only permanent entry/exit point even once the new starter areas are online. But they will be at the other one-time gates once Exordium officially opens just to take a shyte on new players and CCP.

Yeah, when there wasn’t a fresh new extra-carebear starter area just teeming with potential tears. The very existence of Exordium and what it represents will draw out the usual suspects whose only joy in life is taking joy away from others. I guess time will tell.

“Some men aren’t looking for anything logical, like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

Why does Exordium exist in your opinion?

Because EVE is bleeding players. Because the current generation of gamers are pansies with zero patience or attention span. Unfortunately, this is the pool that FC has to draw from. That is why Exordium exists…

Oh so you weren’t commenting on a line of discussion that started with?

Otherwise why would you even care that Yulai/Manifest is the only reliable way in and out of the region? Did you notice how everyone else is also talking about ganking?

Oh I don’t know, maybe that stated reason of FC in the dev blog, might want to reread it, especially this part:

So how is you stating “EVE is a PvP game” to the developers change the fact that they want to increase player retention? Is EVE a PvP game? PvP is possible and in the past it was encouraged by the devs, but EVE is hardly a PvP game no matter how much the devs or a minority if players wish it were. Maybe it’s PvP for you and like-minded people, but for the majority it is definitely not. And broadening the term to encompass non-combat activity doesn’t change what people really mean when they say “PvP”.

Hot take: Eliminating non-consensual HiSec PvP in its entirety wouldn’t put a dent in EVE’s playerbase. The reaction would be overall positive.

Agree or disagree?

Exordium, if it is the function as the devs seem to desire, does not seem like it will work out. Other changes will have to be put in place. Changes that will effectively end non-consensual PvP even outside of Exordium for characters under a certain age. If that’s the case, why even bother with Exordium and all the bugs it’s introducing? The whole thing sounds ill-conceived. A 45-day immunity to unprovoked aggression (that can be opted out of) would make more sense and be far less headache than making Exordium and completely restructuring the starter experience.

Thats sounds like a load of crap and an overgeneralization of entire subsection of the playerbase. Especially when there are plenty of other games that are easier and harder than EVE. Eve is an acquired taste and honestly I can only handle it in a few doses.

…would kill the game. For reference, see EVE Echoes. There is no PvP allowed in high sec and as a result inflation is sky high and ore is all but worthless. The same Prospect that costs 30 million ISK in EVE Online costs 1.2 billion ISK in Echoes…

EVE Echoes has other problems like micro transactions galore, bad translations, 2/3rd the ships being locked behind omega and alot more restrictions and ■■■■■■■■ than EVE has. It’s a terrible comparison to make.

New terrible idea. Concord Security Permit.

1 Day
7 Day
12 Day
30 Day
Passes, cant be PVP’d.

(Basically a mobile game micro transaction shield
This is a joke and terrible idea. For reason forum posters would blast me for. :joy:)

Let me put it in terms you people can understand. If EVE Online had NO non-consensual PVP whatsoever in high sec, it would kill the game. Trillions of ISK would flow through Jita daily unhindered, manufacturers would never sell another barge, Orca, Porpoise or hauler ever again, because you can’t be killed. Manufacturers would never sell another faction battleship or Marauder ever again, because again, no worries about being ganked. High sec ores and ice would become all but worthless because you can’t be killed and would be able to suck down entire belts 24/7 in perfect safety. You people really don’t think about the consequences of what you are wanting. Or maybe you do and just don’t give a ■■■■…

It’s like people don’t read…yes, this game is a PVP game at it’s core, no amount of players saying it isn’t is going to overrule what the devs designed this game to be. Destruction is good for the economy. If you want a more PVE centered game, EVE echoes exists.

There you go lumping folks into categories.

I ain’t against PVP my forumtacular acquaintance.

I’m against the ■■■■■■■■ Wardec system and lack of consequence for suicide gankers among other things.

I’ll tank my ships, fly with D-Scan, watch DOTLAN, Killmail, Evemap, take all the precautions I need to, to be safe and it wont stop the eventuality that a couple suicide tornados or have it blows me up at a market. Ill still play here and there and with these precautions.

I think suicide gankers should lose tremendous amount of security status from one act.

I don’t think security tags should be tradeable to recover security and I don’t think they should exist at all.

I think the wardec system for highsec should change to some proportionality system where corps of similar member populations can wardec each other regardless of having an infrastructure up. Perhaps make a “Tiny” class Citadel as a gateway into infrastructure holding. Its like a wrestling weight class for highsec corp wardeccing.

Eve has risk, yes thats part of the game. But sometimes it just dont make no good sense other than people inflicting suffering upon each other for the lulz. If I wanted that, I’d go back to Escape from Tarkov or Rust or any other game where PVP is the game.
