Introducing Exordium!

2 day downtimes!

:cooked_rice: :fireworks: Was the best I could find.

Uprising… 2022, Havoc … 2023, Revenant … 2024. So has EVE doing anything for you lately? :joy:

Add a year to each of those as they were Nov/dec expansions and got better with the major update patch. Lately though, Gallente Election and Capsuleer day were great. And all the new ships from Catalyst.

Fixed it for you, lol.

When cradle patch notes

Well, ive mentioned a couple times about FC needing to release something about what these restrictions are going to be before this zone launches. I think its rather important to get those squared away so that everyone knows what to expect and how to act accordingly.

If they dont then its going to be a bit chaotic for everyone involved. Players will certainly try and see what they can get away with when nothing has been officially posted yet. Seems like you would want to get the rules out first to save some headache and extra work afterwards trying to sort messes out.

As far as patch notes, they are posted the day of ( the little ones are ) but who knows. Theres a week left to go before launch so the sooner the better.

The region is pretty much live. They even added the career agents. But unsure if new chars spawn there yet. i guess i could log in and check

Xordium was apparantly a pre expansion before the expansion (drops june 9th but no patch notes yet)

Patch Notes for 2026-06-05.1

Defect Fixes:

Gameplay:

  • Fixed an issue in starter space where NPCs would not retaliate against players.

    • This fixes an issue affecting missions such as “The Stand” in the Soldier of Fortune career agent arc.

Can’t help but notice they forgot to add a “:handshake: Reported by Anna Dyneaux” to this one. Kind of weird to make a tutorial region and not, you know, actually test the tutorial first.

Why do you think it was added before it’s actual release of June 9th? You are the beta tester and you are paying for the privilege of being so.

Great, Thanks to you the new players can get shot at and be killed. Which will cause ragequits and we will lose a lot of newbros. Well done! Are you feeling good now?

If they were going to ragequit when an NPC shoots them during the tutorial, I wouldn’t want them in EVE to begin with.

Yeah typical EVE bittervet elitist point of view.

It is a new age, and these new players are not as hardcore as you are. They need help to get hooked into the game. They want no fighting. They just want to fight in absolutele piece undisturbed. Ideally without need to play it.

If we want to improve player retention we need to think of newbros more.

Calm down, ganker… I can’t believe I’m advocating for players to be shot at vs. a seal clubber that wants to protect them!

The tutorial is supposed to work that way. The player getting blapped is intended.

It seems it has been a while since you did the tutorial or did you skip it?

Quick summary:
Losing a ship during the tutorial is an intentional, foundational lesson introduced in 2014. In the revised “Enforcer” missions, one of the NPC combat tutorial agents deliberately sends you to fly a junk ship into a combat zone where it is guaranteed to be destroyed.
Before this change, older versions of the tutorial taught players that all ship losses were negative, creating a “fear of loss” that discouraged new players from experiencing the game’s sandbox universe. By forcing a ship loss early in the New Player Experience, CCP Games removes the anxiety of your first real “podding” (ship destruction)

Yes and both the career missions with enforced ship loss are the biggest newbie crushers in entire history of EVE. That is where EVE is bleeding players in the first place.

I thought that CCP finally realized this and that is why they made NPCs in Exordium to not shoot players back. Seems I was wrong and it wasn’t and intention :frowning: . When will CCP learn?!

It literally says in the mission journal that youre going to lose the ship.

No real new player would read it. And those who do quit before taking the mission.

Lots of stuff in the Exordium update today…
