golden times for rookies—getting their rewards and bounties cut by 20% while everything else gets 5% more expensive. yeah, that’s exactly the right kind of motivation.
It’s to deter everyone else.
i know, but…
Then they shouldn’t let veterans to enter.
As @Ploing said, ISK is fun. New players will leave if they are not making enough ISK/h as they are instructred from YouTube EVE videos.
- < 200mil ISK/h: “man, this game sucks”
- 200mil ISK/h: “this game is not that bad…”
- 300mil ISK/h: “I’m starting to like this game…”
- 400mil ISK/h: “this game is fun!”
- 500mil ISK/h: “dude, this game is amazing, you must play it too!”
You don’t need to be making x ISK/hour. Who cares what the YouTubers think… Work an hour in real life and don’t struggle!
Introducing grade zero veldspar ore. What was worth 10 ISK is now probably worth 5 ![]()
That’s the problem with making something worthless. It’s really hard to make it even more worthless.
But wait! There’s less…
Did you fall and bump your head?
Watching the wrong YT vids is certainly hazardous to your health. A new player wont even know what isk/h is right off the bat. If they want to quit over something as silly as that then this game was never meant for them in the first place.
For a new player…entitlement is never an option here.
which is why ccp is allowing us into exordium to help lead the sheep to either become gankers, miners, the new mittani etc.. quit doomposting
I didn’t say a zephyr was rare, just fun. But an anhinga and a skua are kinda rare.
Just get us a Downvote option - there is some nonsense here that needs DV as a minimum, not a response feeding it.
thats discourse itself not FC
Discourse avoids downvotes **to prevent “mob rule” mentalities, discouraging the silencing of unpopular opinions and mitigating troll behavior. The platform operates on a philosophy of positive reinforcement, emphasizing constructive replies, healthy moderation, and flagging rather than peer-driven censorship
The intentional design to exclude downvotes centers around a few key principles:
- Preventing “Echo Chambers”: Downvoting often leads to users piling on legitimate but unpopular opinions, effectively burying conversations and suppressing diverse perspectives.
Encouraging Empathy: On boards focused on subjective discussions and opinions, downvotes can act as a negative emotional reward. Discourse believes it is better to require users to formulate a response to refute an argument rather than using a downvote to hide it
Delegating to Moderation: If a post is merely “meh,” Discourse allows it to fall away as new active topics emerge. If a post is actually offensive or violates community rules, the platform relies on active moderation and flagging tools rather than crowd-sourced downvotes
So instead people log in with their 40+ alts and flag.
I didnt bother translating…but i guess im glad i didnt.

How about making Titans cost less resources resulting in pilots leaving the safety of Exordium sooner than later as most new Capsuleers look towards the largest ship before they know that Eve Online actually is a gated sandbox that resembles watching paint dry when looking at how long it takes to build a titan from scratch.
You didn’t really miss anything.
The story on the front page of the BBC news website today, about people losing vast amounts of money, and even their houses and jobs, because of their addiction to Eve, is probably not going to help recruiting or retention… and a brilliant move by the FC spokesman who put the figure of real money equivalence lost in a silly NS battle as even higher than the BBC suggested, as if that was a selling point for the game. Doh!
Digital crackheads of all types exist, whether it’s EVE, WoW, or any other similar game…
Pure hyperbol.
Gaming addiction is real, in many many games…but that sounds a bit exaggerated to me. Well…news websites will always push the limits on extreme exaggeration to make the story more appeasing.
