Introducing the Colony Builder for Industrial EVE

Hi everyone,

Following the previous thread here (which has now been locked), I’m excited to share a major new feature added to Industrial EVE: the Colony Builder!

The Colony Builder is designed to help you plan and create PI templates—either for personal use or to share with others.

:hammer_and_wrench: What is the Colony Builder?

It lets you create and save full PI setup templates that can be imported in-game, saving time and reducing planning errors. Here’s what you can do:

  • Create Your Own Templates
    Design full colony layouts from scratch to suit your needs. Paste it easily in-game.
  • Save and Manage Your Designs
    Store your templates in your profile, so you can access and update them anytime.
  • Import & Export Support
    Bring in existing designs or download and share the ones you’ve built.
  • Share with the Community
    Choose to keep your templates private or publish them to the new Community Templates page. Discover what others are building, and get inspired!

I made the Colony Builder in an effort for users to be able to create templates more easily without the need to log in. The Community Templates page was created for users to be able to easily find pre-made templates from other users, save them in their profile, and then also import them into the game.

I’ll be monitoring for feedback and ready to improve or expand functionality based on what the community needs.

The next functionality I will work on will probably be to be able to copy already placed pins and paste them again so you don’t have to do the same actions for identical pins.

Hello everyone,

It’s been a minute since my last update, but I’m back to working on IndustrialEVE and this time I’m focusing on upgrading existing pages with new quality of life features.

These updates are currently live on the dev site for testing: dev.industrialeve.com

Feel free to hop in and try them out!

What’s New and Under Testing:

1. Template Lists (My Templates page)

Users can now organize their saved templates into custom lists.
Whether you want to group by solar system, production chain, or anything else, this makes accessing and managing PI setups much easier.

2. Region & System Explorer (PI System Explorer)
In the page PI System Explorer users could already check what planets they need for their PI production. Now a search function was added:

  • Search by Region to view all solar systems within it, along with a count of planet types in each system.
  • Search by Solar System to see detailed info:
    • Each planet’s type and radius
    • A summary of available planet types in that system

This makes it far easier to plan your PI or find ideal colony setups without having to bounce between in-game tools or spreadsheets.

These features are still under active development, but are fully functional as of now. Your feedback and bug reports are welcome!

IndustrialEVE v3.1.5 released

New features:

1. PI Scheme page :

  • Page renamed to PI System Checker
  • Now includes region and system checking for identifying suitable PI planets

2. My templates page

  • Added the ability to create and manage lists
  • UI reworked to facilitate the new functionality

3. General UI bug fixes
