Can invention be done only in player owned stations? Looking for an NPC station that will permit invention on a BPC with no luck.
Use dotlan to find systems witht he blue marker, those have labs which can do all forms of research, then look in the stations to find the ones with R&D.

Bottom right of the map, T22-QI is blue, then clicking on that the bottom station has “Research”
You can also use the industry window, facilities and restrict to invention. Then sort by jumps or costs, whatever you look for.

OK, I used dotlan, and the Hogimo system has a blue marker. Looking at the system, Hogimo VI Moon 17 Lai Dai Corp has research facilities. Docking at the station and using the blueprint in the industry window, the invention button is not active.
I currently have a blueprint being researched for time efficiency in Tintoh. Do I have to wait for that research to complete before I can start an invention job? Currently, I can only have one research job active at a time.
In this case yes, or you can train up the appropriate research skills (Laboratory Operation and Advanced Laboratory Operation) to allow for more jobs (to a maximum of 11)
Thanks. Currently I have other skill priorities. Once my current research job is finished, I’ll try again. Eventually, I do plan to skill up further to be able to run more than one job at a time.
I think to get to 2 jobs it takes only a couple of minutes of skill training …
Bear in mind that you invent using blueprint copies. If you are trying to invent from the original, it won’t work. Invention is chance based - with low skills you’ll probably have a 33% +/- chance of success. Your blueprint copy and datacores are consumed either way.

Looking in both Production and Science, I see skills that increase the number of manufacturing jobs, but not research jobs. Am I looking in the wrong place at the wrong skills?
Just checking that you know you cannot do invention from blueprint originals?
You have to make a copy, and use that for invention.

Yes, I was using a bpc, but my limit is the number of jobs, and I have a research job going at the moment.

You want laboratory operation, train the first few levels in hours.
Laboratory Operation and the subsequent advanced skill is what will give you more research (blue) jobs.
