Those defender missiles have almost zero impact. A triple-times or even quadruple-times higher eHP buffer would be worth way more than the defender ability.
No? Most of them are dead right now LONG before they would face capacitor issues in a realistic setup.
Sorry mate, you are riding a dead horse here, there is absolutely no way a realistic fitting setup would make them worse as they already are. In general of course, some special NPCs like Drifters or Advanced Sleepers are pretty tough, but they arenāt player-pilotable and thus donāt have a āfittingā anyway.
I would agree if you all, but the company keeps pushing NPCs doing player stuff, while their NPCs are just āblocksā with floating numbers, if you donāt see some duality here, then gg.
Newer content, where rats are much stronger, they actually do have a āfitā I believe this started with burner missions. But old content like missions, anomolies, etc. are old and are more made to make the capsuleer feel stronger. Take any normal level 4 mission and replace them with actual capsuleer ships and not even a marauder would be able to complete them alone. You would need a fleet of roughly equal size (less if tailor made to handle) to the NPC spawns. We are talking 20-30 pilots, or maybe 10 highly skilled and organized players.
They mine ORE, they pod kill, the virtual gameplay contract (the loosen definition of it) between the player and the company must be explicit.
We play, they provide, we put effort, we lose stuff. NPCs donāt sleep, and donāt need to work to pay the game, allowing then to just do stuff and destroy players stuff just because, WHILE IN COMPANY POWER TO DO IT, may not be very fair⦠Leading to no fair ā cheating. This aināt WoW, I just donāt respawn, I need to put money to get the stuff back, the minimum I require is a fair interaction interface where I can see some RoI of my time and money.
Iām not sure why it isnāt so clear for you, Iām not a big fan of eating a plate of crap just because it was served. If this thread helped me into something, it was into not buying PLEX evar.
So far I bought OMEGA and CCP delivered the services, no matter how much I like it or not, itās still fair, if they DREAM pushing shenanigans on me will lead to me putting more money on the game, they have another thing coming.
They pretend to mine ore, they do not actually mine anything.
Only when you are engaging with them. You choose to do that mission, or go to that area where they are. If you want them to be more like players, they are going to be MORE powerful. CCP has been holding back for the benefit of players.
At some point I failed to put it clear what my frustration is:
The content seem to be designed only to waste my time. Iām not sure why I did all the preamble, I should have been more open about how I felt.
If itās cheating or not, like put above, is irrelevant, itās in company power to do so, the lesson I needed I acquired reflecting on the topic myself, all the other text is irrelevant.
At some point I almost lost sight I play for fun, that ā ā ā ā wasnāt fun. Maybe I chose wrong to came back, thatās up to me to decide and take action.
To be honest, it would be limiting for game design for ships to be limited to be stuck with player type stats. Also while I think letting the NPCs use EWAR with no capacitor is dumb since it means capcitor warfare is useless against them, having them need to use capacitor for shooting goes too far in the other direction since theyāre too dumb to manage it. The bigger problem is that instead of coming up with imaginary names for the NPCs, they sometimes pick player ship types. If a Kestrel canāt have that high EHP and you need an NPC to have those stats, call it something else so that instead of ācheatingā it is just a really beefy frigate that the player has no rason to expect to behave like a Kestrel.
I loath this about CCPās designs. It makes some of my favroite ships nearly unprroftiable for PVE unless the price of drones drop to 1/3000 of their current prices. An excuse people say is āwell itās to prevent bottingā and I retort there are many way to do that besides making the NPCs eat the drones. First off, CCP could just manually examine the inputs of a supposed botter and actually ban them if they are bots instead of nerfing drones. Or have the NPCs have a longer cooldown on how long it takes before swapping targets. Maybe have an NPC recalculate āfuture targetā instead of recalculating current target and not switch shooting unless current target dies and if future target is your drone, the drone owner sees in space an animation of the NPC aiming a line at the drone so he knows he has 10 seconds to recall before it starts getting smacked.
Difficult to understand what youāre on about at this point, tbh.
Do you actually want to fight PvE ships that are built to player-ship specs? Because something like that will almost certainly kill you very, VERY quickly, whereas the level 3 mission content you seem to be having difficulty with is probably somewhere on the difficulty spectrum between ātrivialā and āvery easyā.
I just wanted to do a lvl 3 without so much hassle from a MOA with perfect tanking, dmg and range. If that makes sense.
I think even if CCP has the power to do it, it does not need to exercise it, itās not even a lvl 4.
But to be honest itās just on mission, all others are good. The designer really exaggerated on that one, itās disingenuous of my part to say all them are like that. It was frustrated af tho.
the npc have refused to turn in their missiles and ships to be āupgradedā to capsuleer standards, so they may have longer range and stats no longer available to us. ;p
in my bio are links you may find useful . welcome to eve and be ready for even more npc hijinks
If you are having problems with a hurricane, maybe train more skills for it or see if the fit is good. Upgrading to a fleet hurricane will likely just end up with a bigger loss, although Iām all for more loss.
Maybe you should try abyssal PvE and slowly work it up from there. Early on I made the mistake of taking in a big costly ship ā thinking bigger is better ā and lost it to the drones. I then started watch the Aceface progression and his fits videos.
I wasnāt doing this for ISK, but we are not talking about the ISK, just surviving and understanding of NPCs. There are tons of Youtube tutorials, I recently found ScanJaX to be very informative for a new player.
I donāt survive well myself in progressive combat sites, but I never expect to survive a lot I do in Eve. When I do survive, it is more like a huge victory for me.
