Is faction war PVP profitable?

cool, sounds interesting, I will practice that. thx!

This thread is awesome, I learned so far…

Fw not as profitable as L4…

Everyone is having fun and making some awesome kills while at it.

Granted 30-60 mil per hour is not a lot, but few pvp encounters is a great number for low sec.

Why is it, that it boils down to ISK/hr?

Is that really the main objective?

No why I wrote this is just so I can not lose money in FW while pvp some people for fun. I am very poor anyways, not like I can buy battleships or battlecruisers.

Yes - FW is very profitable. Sadly…

The sad thing is: The money you get out of AFK deplexing is just sick…
I made an ALPHA account just to test it - and AFK deplexed. Investment about 1M for 6 frigate hulls. Dont bother fitting them - so you will stay at a cost of about 300k isk for the ship)

The Faction was in Tier 5 - I was in a very calm system…

I made about 1B ISK in 10 hours… That is just sad… It is bad for FW as ppl will join for money, and they will join the winning team (as they will have the best LP rewards)… Sad… As this will further imbalance the game… as more ppl join the winning side…

Well THAT’s the best recruiting poster I’ve EVER seen!

wait what legit??? thats crazy!!! I LOST LIKE 4 SHIPS JUST TO ATTACK 1 PLEX AND still cant capture it because kiting Tristans.

Try a federation navy comet

People making claims like this are only attacking empty plex and then warping off if someone shows up in dscan. It’s lame, but that seems to be how FW works.

Okay I just wanna say thx to everyone who posted on this threat, because you all helped me a lot. Now I am starting to make some LP by fighting in FW, and also met some friendly pilots who are complete strangers. I am glad that so many EVE players are so kind and helpful. Big thanks to all of you guys.

So no, this was not meant as a recruitment post… not what I intended…

I am just sad about the game design… It makes ppl join FW because of ISK. And it makes them join the stronger side… As the CCP logic here is, to reward people for joining the winning side. And those asymmetries will deepen over time…

Question: Why were you told to join this side or that side…
Question: Is it more profitable to mine / mission / … or to FW Plex…

As a general thought on game design:

To create asymmetries in a game without a clear wining and reset point, is just bad.

People are having so many great ideas on how to improve FW… But I think the problem is, that it’s underlying principle is broken…

Edit:
Turns out I can’t comment on my own posts…

100%

I’ll also add that CCP is hindered by their symmetric political design. Lots of things get easier when you have an odd number of sides in a conflict, because the weakest side tends to act as a spoiler on the strongest side (e.g. Dark Age of Camelot).

But yeah, the design that dis-incentivizes fighting on the losing side is just bonkers.

Losing side generally gets more fights as systems swapped get closer to where people base out of

Yeah, it does make it easier for the dozen or so pilots on each side who are actually looking for fights to find each other.

Fw makes quite a bit of isk, defending and capturing plexes that is.

There is also more pvp than i was able to experience in null sec, or regular low sec.

Secret to making isk is hidden in this thread, but overall fly a cheap ship and profit.

I read somewhere that kills give LP as well and should split amongst all people responsible, however, it only appears to grant LP to the person getting the killmail. Is this intentional?
