Would +1 the looking at corporations living in the space you are interested and the timezone you play in. You can do this via the Recruitment Center - EVE Online Forums or in-game via the Recruitment tab inside the Social → Corporations window.
It would also be helpful to share what you’ve been doing in high security space.
There’s no wrong time to explore other areas of space.
