I wasn’t suggesting an increase in the armor repping, just sig decrease from 180 to 120, a reduction of high slots to 4 and 10% less cap use on armor reps. They would still rep less than the guardian, the only advantage is the larger buffer while hardeners are overheated (which can’t last forever due to heat damage). The guardian also has a sig radius of 80.

Hmm. I was flying the logi-link Legion on SiSi for a bit and even fighters had a hard time doing any damage to her. I would take it, no question but I don’t think it does make much of a difference.
I think the comparison of what an Oneiros or Scythe can hold versus what 3 cap-chained Guards can hold is so lopsided there is really no comparison. One is brought out with hacs down to even assault frigates, but the others are seen holding their own in a battleship engagement. How do you figure balance into that?
Basi 6 highs; Guard 6 highs; Oneiros 4 highs; Scimitar 4 highs. Now look at the pg for each. Basi has stupid high pg with 30% more pg over Scimitar, while Oneiros sports less pg by only about 50. Both Basi and Guard have higher armor and shield than their counter parts by 500+. That’s real ***** balancing, imo. Same lows on both armor ships and same amount of mids on both shield. The Oneiros and the Scythe get less useful slots where they currently hold more on.
The Oneriros is actually pretty decent. We have yet to lose any in our valhalla armor fleets. They can be made practically immune to ECM and cap stable for 24 reloads of cap charges (assuming large anc rep is not being used when it runs out of charges). I have however lost every guardian I’ve handed out to date. lol. It’s medium armor bots are also better in the event that it does get jammed.

Well that would be silly. If you could make a T3 outperform a T2 Ship specialised in a certain field, for example logi/recons/hacs etc. Then what would be the point in owning anything but a T3 cruiser and just refitting it whenever you need?

Also it’s not better than the guardian in most situations, it has 33% less rep power and 50% larger sig. It’s only use would be against alpha fleets so you can buffer to 200kehp. Even then, the lower sig of the guardian might still make it more likely to survive against battleship weapons.
This would work best against BC arty fleets. It should be made slightly more viable for that special occasion.
When was the last time you fit a 800mm plate on a guardian? I get the immunity to ECM. The utility is great and having extra lows on a Scythe is a big reason you see many of them fit with reactor controls. People continue to underestimate utility drones. Yet… The fitting is lopsided terribly to favor the extra fitting required for cap transfers. Why not add another specialization to Oneiros and Scythe at least? Maybe bonus to effectiveness of modules requiring Energy Grid Upgrades, so that they play their small gang roles even better.
Best buff for scythe and onerios would be a special cargo bay for cap boosters. It’s hideous that a Guardian has a larger cargo bay and an Onerios when the Oneiros is the ship that requires that cap boosters. Makes them unsuitable for extended fights.
Strange, since the Exequror has an unusually large cargo in comparison to other cruisers.

Yeah, I send out the Oneiros against non-alpha fleets that I don’t expect to fight for over 15 minutes. I can’t devise a way to 1600mm plate them without severely gimping them.

You don’t need it. They put out 4200 hp/s on a 87% omni resist vessel while being cap stable.

Man, donchu see? If you baby one of the highs and go for some deadspace mediums, you can pull off the 1600 plate. Look at those resists.
I’m just not seeing cap boosters on a Guard or Basi… shrugs…
people get nervous when they see one guard. Always expect three.
