Think that would be wasted effort. Report function abusers is also a great idea though.
Doesnt it have some timeout mechanism yet? That kind of thing should be automated I think. If I am understanding correctly only one report is enough to alert ISD and bring attention to the thread. Spamming reports on all posts wouldnt be very helpful then.
Waiting for the tears when you get canceled and shamed and have to make a new character to cry about it.

I think the thing to remember is that ISD’s are volunteers and they can leave at any time. Volunteering is thankless work, regardless of what or where you volunteer. The power to mute someone for 24 hours is not an issue so far, as long as that power is not abused. I also feel the ability to ban people would be a step too far. CCP itself needs to take some responsibility for rules on their forums, when comments or abuse get out of control.
I am bit concerned about increased censorship, especially if an ISD has some favorite posters that share their views or ideas or against someone that has views against a certain play style. It would be only natural for a human being to have those feelings.
As I said earlier, volunteering is not a forced position and those people should be commended for doing so. Luckily, ISD’s get to sit behind a computer screen and read comments. Some of us who volunteer get cursed at, spit on, bit, kicked and punched, but yet we still do it.
So hopefully with these new powers, ISD’s will have the ability and understanding that EvE players are very passionate about their game and sometimes become a little too aggressive with their language.

A report is generated for each use of this power which we will be monitoring closely.
Bans and longer term silences are still at CCP’s discretion when ISDs escalate concerns to us.

That is why CCP still have to check whats going on, from time to time, being on forum.

If we react to a flag, reported by one of you, an action is recorded, just as the action of you flagging a post is recorded in the system. If no action, by you or ISD, there isn’t anything that needs to be recorded.
