I’m going to bed… I’m placing bets with myself as to, by the time I wake up:
- how many more threads will be posted
- whether or not he will be banned (though technically this won’t be announced, so we can only infer somehow)
- whether or not @CCP_Dopamine will respond to this thread
- whether or not dumbass child will respond to this thread and out himself

A wise man once said, or just a hero’s phrase, “With great power, comes great responsibility”; while anyone can apply to become ISD, not everyone has the mindset to fulfill the responsibility which they are choosing to take on.

Ok, this is getting out of hand…this “child” is creating thread after thread going after @ISD_Dorrim_Barstorlode . And my hats off to Dorim for keeping his cool, but how about banning?
I know over the past few month, we have all lost our cool due to CCP changes, but what this guy is doing is basically harassment. @CCP_Dopamine could you please get this guy out of here?

It was not appropriate to spam the forums like that but the moderation on this forum is a total joke both.

Thanks for the support for our ISDs in here you guys, I’ve been working with them quite a bit and I know it can be a tough job at times. As for the suggestions to increase their moderation power - we have things in the works so they won’t always have to wait for us to respond to deal with issues like today.

This is a very touchy thread topic due to the recent situation, everybody posting in this thread is basically discussing moderation which is against the Forum rules, one of the many rules that posters get away with breaking. This will be my only post in this thread.
Yeah, I saw the OP’s first thread, it was a legit thread and a viable topic. However the poster got hard hounded by the usual suspects and I don’t blame him for getting pissed. Hell they piss me off too, I could go on and list the reasons why but that’ll just start a forum flame war.
I will however agree with you @Archer_en_Tilavine that the obvious habitual offenders in these forums definitely need to be banned…
Anyway, I have much respect for @ISD_Dorrim_Barstorlode and all the other ISD/CCL members, they definitely have a very tough job, constantly sailing through sh*tstorms here in the forums. Not a job to look forward to day in and day out. Now if I was ISD/CCL, I’d call myself Davy Jones and have a lot of replies ‘Walk The Plank’ to the briny deep, eventually sending the thread to the Locker…
However I’m not ISD/CCL and this thread topic is a touchy one. Quite honestly from what I saw in that thread it appears Dorrim thought a reply from the OP to another poster was actually directed to him, which it wasn’t. Course that caused things to go from bad to worse which resulted in the thread getting locked shortly after.
Yeah, so the OP tried to repost his thread topic again but Dorrim’s ‘Quick-draw’ lock just fueled the rage posting. Now I believe Dorrim probably could have diffused the whole situation very early on just by contacting the OP through the forums private mail message.
These forums have that option available for both CCP and ISD. I know because I’ve been contacted through that option by both CCP and ISD. I think Dorrim could have then cleaned up the original thread and put it back on track.
Obviously due to misunderstanding and miscommunication about what was being directed to whom, that didn’t happen.
So yeah, I can understand why the OP went on a rage posting rampage. I think there’s plenty of blame to go around on everybody for that. People here need to remember this one important fact:
Nobody knows everything and a wise person knows there’s something to be learned from everybody.
Taking time to be Politically Correct without ruffling too many feathers…

If somebody is going to start a thread, not be clear on what they want, refuse to elaborate on their OP, refuse to talk about proof that their idea might not be great and then start down the rabbit hole BEFORE anyone started to push back, maybe it’s the OP’s fault…not ever thread is a good one for the outset and we were pretty respectful for a long time…
I can push pretty hard at times but that wasn’t one of them…most others too were also pretty good so…

Moderation needs to return to a point where the issues of the game can be discussed. Right now the same pattern happens over and over and over.

You are wildly inconsistient with your moderation practices including using the general information forum for your own off topic whims.
This is not a fun time for a lot of us who consider this game our hobby. We need to have a place to express ourselves without a few I can name taking the conversation off topic sometimes.
Thank you for putting up with the likes of me. I’m one salty bitter vet …but this game needs to improve and players have ideas.
What can you do? Consistiently enforce your own guidelines and start banning the trolls who we can all call by name.

I told you in the other thread I’ve had it with your forum games. Now go block yourself from posting comments directed specifically towards me.
What if these ideas are bad and have been discussed over a million times before? What is considered an improvement to the game? Does the random internet person know how to improve a complex game like eve?
These “usual” people are on both sides of the trenches. Both so entrenched in their beliefs, that there is no possible way a good discussion amounts from it.
We should not ban people for having an overly critical view and expressing them in a harsh manner. It’s the internet, learn to deal with it.
However, ISD’s should be able to ban obvious abuse like spam, as the OP refers to.

I think you’re overreacting a little bit, @Runa_Yamaguchi wasn’t attacking you, she made a very valid point. The OP of the locked threads very rapidly became offensive when asked for clarification and went after one of the forum moderators.
The ISD team cut us a lot of slack here, certainly more than I’ve experienced from moderators on other forums; if they enforced all of the rules to the letter this forum would be a lesser place. In this instance somebody broke one of the few rules that is strictly enforced, and they did it repeatedly.
Sit back, relax, drink some of your beverage of choice and let it go for now.

People who have opinions that differ from your own and are passionate about what they believe aren’t necessarily trolls; although some of them certainly are.
For the most part the perception of who the troll is, is subjective.
