ISD Appreciation - On Behalf of the Community, Thank You!

Apparently not, Archer. This is a quote from their online ad now:

What you do in New Eden is entirely up to you. EVE’s immense sandbox gives you the opportunity to choose between multiple activities, such as combat, mining, exploration and business.

This is the link: EVE Academy | The ultimate beginner's guide to EVE Online | EVE Online

It’s under this section: FIGHT, EXPLORE, EARN WEALTH AND MORE

Thank you for posting a relevant, current, official document linked directly from CCP’s website that isn’t archival/snapshot/obsolete/dated by nature. @Daichi_Yamato could learn from your example.

@Sere_O_Asis has provided sufficient/explicit/unambiguous evidence of CCP’s view on EVE being a sandbox at this point in time. CCP should change that view… or at least the wording… but that’s a different conversation!

I honestly thought you were contesting the pvp part.

The sandbox IS a whole different conversation yes lol.

Triggered on a whole new level

its up to you to grow up. ITs not that hard really - you discuss the topic and leave the personal attacks out of it. If you can’t handle that type of conversation you shouldn’t be here…has nothing to do with ///sigh being a line member or not.

EVE is a sandbox game, how is that even up for discussion or in need of proof?

I applied. I am still flabbergasted that I have not been accepted to join. A nice guy like me. I would be so nice to other people as an ISD. They would be going “wow, that ISD Solonius is such a nice guy, I resubbed because of him, I bought 10,000 plex because of him, I named my firstborn Solonius because of him”.

You guys are wasting an opportunity here. Imagine my nice guy attitude, with an ISD in front of my name.

The reason that CCP sets rules (or society IRL) is that the concept of “grow-up” or “behave” is subjective. Rules are a minimum baseline that all musts adhere to. One’s version of “grow-up” will be different than another’s and this is why societies needs structure with those that enforce said rules.

I much rather have a hard floor to work from that some moving line that nobody knows where it is.

Maybe you’ll get the message if I use your own words as a reply:

@ISD_Dorrim_Barstorlode This is a perfect example of a habitually offensive poster who should have been banned from these forums a long time ago.

Good grief…

Not only are you delusional, you’re a liar as well.

I’ve already provided documentation and reported you to CCP for harassment and threats of physical violence, if you continue stalking me and posting your BS lies I’ll report you again for it.

Now, now boys.

Lets keep it on topic, we’re meant to be showing our appreciation for the work that the ISD team do; not making their job harder. Given that we’re a cantankerous bunch with strong opinions about the game I feel that they do pretty well.

If you wish to offer ideas for improvement or feedback on what they do, positive or otherwise, please do so without attacking each other.

Much as it normally amuses me to indulge in some schadenfreude and watch others going at each other like this, I don’t think that this particular thread is the place.

In any other thread this post would be a popcorn gif.

When you get angry, you post exactly like one of the sole alts.

Coincidence?

Remember, we’re supposedly the bad guy…

I mean, I would love it if you could get back on topic. That’d be awesome.

prime example of attacking the person instead of discussing a subject. So tired of you.

I appreciate that you do.

Kind of ironic that most of the likes on your post are from the biggest offenders in derailing and then maintaining the off-the-rails mess that this thread has become.

It’s a sad day when the ISD has to threaten to shut a thread that was supposed to say thanks to the only staff of CCP who works for free.

It doesn’t bother me that people are rude and abusive in the forums. It gives me a chance to observe their demeanor. After all the smack talk I’ve said in Amarr local, I would be a hypercritic to say otherwise. But it is supposed to be PG 12 forum. So I try to keep a sense of humor. I don’t block anyone, no matter how much of a troll he/she is because you never know when someone is going to have a “Forest Gump” moment and come up with a good idea. (I just skip through the school ground “I know you are, but what am I?” parts) I give likes to people even if I don’t like them/their demeanor if I agree or think they have an idea that CCP might run with. I try not to feed the trolls until after midnight my time because their just like other peoples children to me, you wind them up and then just leave and let them tear themselves up at others expense. At least I’m honest about it.

As for uncivilized replies, I grudging respect some who post here for that. When you have to reply year after year to same ideas that the op didn’t bother to research first. Others just like to be rude. Just like in game, get over it and don’t feed them till after your time midnight. If you get the timing right, they will stew all night!

While I think trying to clean up the forums is a noble idea, it’s still a bad one. It adds an extra workload on the ISD and we would miss a lot of good one-liners. While the game itself is PG 12, the player base is not. What can be said in local can reach XXX or worse. If a 12 yr old comes in and posts on the forums, he/she consents to pvp just as much as undocking in the game and should learn from the experience and apply that knowledge in game.

As for the ISD, I bow deeply in respect. I know I post things that are on the edge. Thanks for giving me a break!

You have to wonder who cares more for the game than the players since they work for free and probably have to bite their tongue more than any of us…
