I heard that Pearl Abyss is considering selling CCP, what does this mean about Eve Online. Is Eve Online losing money?
I mean, Eve Online has a lot of ways to spend cash, so I would believe that they are raking it in.
It’s a rumor.
See this thread for the facts: CCP's finances are actually great
What’s the point in getting flustered? Most of the information that would help us discern fake from real news with CCP we can only guess at. Only a few people are privy to the kind of information that would give certainty.
Companies and corporations leave their options open and gather intel on how best to proceed long-term. There are many actions they can take and the process isn’t advertised.
So, what do we actually know? The info in the MER. That’s about all we know.
If you really want to get philosophical about this, nobody knows how anybody is doing. Even the best analysis can be wrong, so I try to keep an open mind. Believe it or not, I may have been slightly mistaken once upon a time.
Same.
I’m mistaken several times a day but that doesn’t rob me of my wonderful smile.
EvE will chug along regardless of who’s at the helm.
I know that you are trying to be more modest and relatable to the common man (and woman). But that doesn’t mean you have to lie like this!

Net-Ease is waving? lol.. BTW.. Net-Ease is a P2W company.
I think it means that the game is not doing well… The recent uptick in statistics without anything to justify it says to me that they are trying to make the game appear more profitable than it actually is in order to sell it…
I just returned to the game after a five year break to find that half the players have left the game in that time… The number of people at the trade hubs has been cut in half and Dodixie got all but abandoned… The statistics that they are now putting out is not reflected by what is actually going on in the game with the markets and player counts…
The bottom line is that Pearl Abyss’s agenda was to monetize the game away from the players to make more money off of it… In five years, they have taken over all the “premium” skins and just recently started to monetize the ships… It looks like they have come to the realization that if they steal ship manufacturing away from the players, there will be a mass exodus from this game… I think they are caught between a rock and a hard place with this game, so they have deciced to try and make it look more profitable than it actually is in order to sell it and cut their losses… That’s how I’m seeing all of this…
The real story is that none of us really know if or to whom if anyone that PA is really selling CCP, All we do know is that the idea is being floated to see who bites if anyone.
It does not mean the game is doing badly. CCP last quarter showed it was doing fairly well. It is still is generating a profit. At this point the only thing we all can do is sit and see to whom, if anyone, PA might sell CCP to.
Beyond that.
