Keeping PvE players in EVE

Not really. I try to give guidance in threads in these matters.

PVP in empire is a feature there since day 1. Time to accept and move on.

So some tips given to reduce the chance of blow up. People can use or not use. But as some on the pvp side have side…tools are there for people to die less.

Okay, we know you’re the best. Calm down and take your pill.

Unfortunately Aahz_If is an admitted troll (and not even a very clever one) who is trolling PvP players “because they give better reactions than PvE players”. Ignore it and hopefully it will go away.

Yes, you’ve said that already. Going senile?

Lol theres veterans in this thread that think level 4 missions are effort

Without PVE players,
this game would force you to stop mindlessly blowing stuff up,
and start doing all the background manufacturing that PVE players do.

You make a mistake to think there is no overlap between PvE and PvP players.

If all the players who never do PvP would leave the game, the rest of the playerbase that does both PvE and PvP will happily continue playing without any problems*.

Kind regards, a PvE and PvP player

*The only minor problem would be that there are less targets to shoot at

That’s a big fat assumption. Some people got distracted for a bit, some are just plain slow, some are at the keyboard but using AP, etc.

Also if your computer goes buggy it can delay you past your warp cloak timer.

Face it. Some people are going after pods, shuttles and corvettes just because they are low life griefers, and excuses they make up like them being AFK or on AP have zero credence for covering up what kind of “person” they are.

LOL there’s some people in this thread that think a distraction is equal to an effort.

There are plenty of PVE spaceship games, go play them.
Elite Dangerous, Astrox Imperium, X4 Foundations… All great games.

LOL there’s some people here that think a ship appearing in a combat zone is a distraction rather than the point of being there.

“I was hunting ducks, so I didnt notice the giant lobster monster, sorry”

Lol ffs man

So anyone discovered already where are milllions of new EVE players?

That’s not even close to what I said. Plus, its obvious you are spouting crap to be an annoyance. Man, just go get a life will ya?

Gankers often use PVE situations to effect a gank. Its a common tactic. It works. And while we can criticize the victim for not being better prepared, the lion’s share of criticism is rightly directed at the person backstabbing a distracted person for no reason other than greed, griefing and/or seeing a ship explode.

Criticism for playing the game as intended? You are aware this is a PvP game right?

Let’s take another pvp game, for example chess.
Would you criticise someone for taking your queen in chess after you made a mistake by putting her in the wrong place?

Or would you congratulate your opponent for their smart move while at the same time coming up with a plan to never make that same mistake again?

Or would you throw the board and pieces into the air in a tantrum about victim blaming and sociopath pawns that take innocent queen pieces on the board?

Lot’s of options, but only some will turn you into a better chess player

That’s not true, CCP give me free Gnosis.

Trig Gate Campers are PVE but why PVE players just don’t do anything against them? PVE are Harder to deal with than pvp pilots. Drifters, Triglavians and diamond rats will be the one ganking you if HS will be Just PVE. CCP don’t want HS to be a Space Farmville.

To people complaining about high-sec, low-sec, null-sec. You are playing the game wrong. In essence, you are pretty much safe in whatever sec you are. The key is that you have to adjust your playstyle.

High-sec: Pretty relaxed, nice place to make friends and chat.

Low-sec: Pretty relaxed, everyone you don’t know is per definition a psychopathic idiot, so keep your eyes open and direct your ship somewhere else if they come too close.

Null-sec: Same as Low-sec and everyone is per definition out there to kill you. Not so relaxed but pretty adventurous.

I’ve been playing like that since I started with EVE a few weeks back and I’m enjoying it very much. Yes, I lost a few ships, but that’s part of the game. You learn from it and you adjust your playstyle accordingly.

This is all it boils down to.

Don’t play eve if you don’t want your choices to be affected by other players’ actions.

Yes I am aware. And that is part of my issue…too many are not, or are lulled into forgetfulness.

If you want to make a chess analogy at least make it a fitting one. There is no surprise mystery player that appears in a game of human vs. AI chess.

This situation of a ganker coming into a PVE session is like someone coming from behind you as you are playing a game of computer chess, gets you in an armbar with one arm, and with the other hand puts your queen in a spot where it gets murdered. Then that person declares that you suck at chess.

My analogy is not perfect either, but it beats the tar out of yours.

Anyway, there is no rule that people have to attack PVE players. Its not like its part of our character creation to need to do this. Deciding to do this is a personal choice. That’s obvious. And while I am glad that people are kicking over sand castles online as opposed to IRL, the list of why people choose that path is short and not complimentary to the chooser in any case.

And I will tell you this now, but my point in pointing this out is not to insult the ganker or change them; that would be a waste of time. My point is to inform others before they become victims so they can 1) avoid getting ganked and 2) walk away from getting ganked with their sanity and self esteem in tact.

Doing those requires some understanding of the mentality of the gankers and when you understand that, you look at everything they say, every excuse and every claim, with some well placed suspicion.
