Honestly, I think you’ll oppose anything I mention, so…
Then stop having bad ideas?
It’s not that I oppose the ideas because you said it, I just dislike your suggestion in this thread. Many people on this forum who have seen me oppose some of their posts also have seen me support other posts of them. I share my opinions based on what you write, not on who you are.
And in this case I think it’s a bad idea to force zkillboard participation.
Good to know it’s not personal — just your default setting.
But it is personal. He chooses to “go with the crowd”.
Interesting to see a fresh alt to already have such an opinion about I supposedly do. I wonder who made a new troll.
The fact that you’re more concerned with who said it than whether it’s true says everything.
I already see that what is said is trolling.
It’s only an afterthought that I’m curious who is trolling this time.
I guess the “Who” is the Main or the Well Known Toon posting in this Forum not the Person or I maybe wrong. I’m just high on Blue Pill.
Its actually not even your data, its CCP’s data and CCP allow people to access it with the official API, you have access to it, the person who killed you has access to it, its also visible to members of your corp with access to the combat log, it is not nor has even been considered “your” data so your “agreement” was never required
Don’t forget, if someone posts a KM in chat, anyone can go to zkills and post it.
It’s perfectly acceptable to judge a message based on the messenger. When the source is known to be dishonest, no further reason is needed to disregard their claims.
“The state’s disinformation campaign blurred reality so effectively that even the truth sounded like conspiracy.”
You’ve already lost.
I think the current system is a pretty decent enough middle ground. Gerard Amatin has it mostly right I think.
For the last few years I’ve mostly been doing asymmetric warfare style PVP where we’re trying to hotdrop on things while bigger groups like Goons, Horde or Snuff aggressively try to counter-drop us.
If zkill was removed totally, it would certainly make this gameplay far more interesting and volatile, and incentivize greater risk-taking. However, I can’t ignore that zkill has been an instrumental tool for myself and others to learn this playstyle in the first place.
The fact that zkill is opt-in, and currently a large majority of PVP appears to be tracked by it means that new players have plenty of data to learn from while still leaving veterans with some degree of uncertainty, which creates human errors, volatility and increases changes of interesting PVP.
Risky, at best.
Killmails (at least 3rd party) should definitely be optional. And that includes excluding the ability to post killmails from anyone who hasn’t authorized it.
Gank all you want - but you don’t get to gloat too.
It doesn’t work that way. If I kill your char and I get the final shot or highest damage…then I get a killmail regardless of whether you want one to exist. That is then my killmail…which I can extract the external API stuff for and post on killboard regardless of what you want.
False.
So then I could fly around in my Tengu and look all menacing and high skilled and must have lots of kills…and nobody would ever know that I’d never actually fired a shot at anyone.
Yes…bring on that change ! It would be so much easier to fly around pretending to be amazing than to have to actually go to the bother of shooting stuff and being the real thing.
I can also shoot my 30 alts to pad My killboards.
I have different example:
Now look at this. This ganker is honestly posting his losses, but not his kills. Every one of his death means one carebear ganked. And look how many carebears posted their loss! Almost none! They want to hide their loss because they are ashamed for it or because they are obsessed with their killboard.
Carebears are much more dishonest than gankers and obsessed with their KB more than gankers. This is proof.
