I can only express my opinion on my own behalf, I cannot represent others, I am not a member of CSM, no one voted for me, I do not represent anyone except myself, so this has nothing to do with selfishness, if you think in online games If being able to change your nickname is also a human right, then you should stand up

You already can! You just need to create a new clone, get recertified via AIR, and you even get a brand new body! You can wipe away all your past decisions and start anew!

To be fair I do understand the sentiment. As an example my name RGC Godfather is from my young days on Xbox live. It was my gamertag at the time. RGC was at the time a clan, Raining Gaming Community. My online name was changed on all platforms a few years later to Sn3aky Viking with Sn3aky being a different gaming community on Xbox 360. Even with the community no longer being a thing Ive kept that name on all platforms for years. Itā€™s the name I go by online.

I did what most people here are trolling about while itā€™s a serious suggestion. Just make a new character. I multibox them and itā€™s interesting seeing both names together as a part of my online history across all platforms.

Yeah, every decision has a consequence. And itā€™s all just pixel money, skills and whatnot. You might be a lot happier with a new char. Maybe even find some friends in the game.

Damn, why didnā€™t I think of that name? Instead I went with plain old John hereā€¦ shouldā€™a , couldā€™a, wouldā€™a. Oh well back to mining that ore. Also, there are way too many alt account spies in this game already. Every time I see a newbie with a generic name followed by a number, I think to myself, That is either a person with a lack of imagination or an alt account minion.

Nicknames and aliasesā€¦ oh how funny, they should do stand up comedy.

No. Ccp has no plans to allow name change in the future. Its been said multiple times why a mame change isnt needed. Not to mention impersonation goes for characters as well? If we allowed name changes, what would stop from someone changing their name to m1ttan1 and attempting to impersonate them or M8 Photagrapher?

Ignoring that mechanical name changes already exist in the game. Just rather than being a reasonable $5 price, or like 1/year with a premium accountā€¦ it costs hundreds.

Not to mention impersonation goes for characters as well?

What;s stopping alts from doing this already?
