I most certainly can. I just make a toon and dump several hundred dollars into skill injectors. As I’m over 65mil SP, it will be quite expensive but… Its in the realm of possiblity.

The end result is effectively the same.

Actually arguably worse if you have a stance like Gerard where recognizing friend/foe is important and your character has a reputation. The “Alt” method, gives you a relatively clean slate to work from as far as enemies are concerned (On the friend side, I’ve seen my fair share of “X is my new alt” messages so friendly rep stays mostly intact regardless)

No. Ccp has no plans to allow name change in the future. Its been said multiple times why a mame change isnt needed. Not to mention impersonation goes for characters as well? If we allowed name changes, what would stop from someone changing their name to m1ttan1 and attempting to impersonate them or M8 Photagrapher?

Well, nothing much is really needed in this game. It’s a game.

I thought scams and underhanded ploys were what New Eden was all about. Everything is legal especially if it results in someone else losing something.

Have you been to Jita lately? People have been running scams there for 20 years. What’s wrong with impersonating someone?

I thought so too. These people cannot make up their mind. On one hand you can scam but then on the other you can’t… Unless they mean they can scam but we can’t. Clarification is badly needed.

I don’t even change socks as often as they change their mind but I couldn’t come up with something funnier.

Don’t you find a bit strange that when they do it then it’s the way EVE is supposed to be but when we do it all of a sudden they have 101 arguments against it. I think they have had all those prior years to sharpen their bs arguments and they’re only spewing them out as needed.

Because reputation stands more than scamming. Cannot per rules impersonate corps, players, devs, isds etc.

I would like to see this enforced. Any form of solicitation. This happens several times a minute in trade hubs.

Even happens on the forums. It’s never once been enforced. Both scams and legit solicitations happen constantly yet those are fine despite the terms of service, but name impersonation is where CCP and the CSM draw the line…

That is solicitation. It says including pyramid and chain. It doesnt say limited to. Any solicitation.

I even posted the definition of the word. The TOS states ANY solicitation is against the rules.

Except ccp allows the selling of characters and the forum is the legal place to do it.

Sales are defined as the activity of exchanging a product or service in exchange for money, goods or other services. Solicitation is defined as any effort to ask for support, donations or contributions of money, goods or services.

Selling and buying characters on the forums is very much allowed.

There’s a forum subsection and rules explaining how you can sell your character for ISK.
