I don’t get this. Maybe I’m just not that good at Jabberwocky semantics.
Just how many people are really, actually, PLEXing their accounts ? You’d have to mine in a Proc 3 hours a day, every day, for the entire month to get the 700m or so ISK to do that. And that assumes you don’t want any ISK for anything else…you know, like battleships etc. Multiple accounts don’t solve that issue as you’d have to additionally PLEX those too !
So how are people paying for multiple accounts ? It becomes pretty obvious that unless they are solo ganking and raking in billions, there is simply no way a person can PLEX multiple accounts…at least not without a huge amount of AFK. But then…why have 4 extra accounts all AFK mining just to bring in the ISK to buy the PLEX to pay for the accounts ?
At some point, it becomes pretty blatantly obvious that large numbers of people are buying PLEX…paying for them.
Why would you come here and waste your time to type this out only to be completely wrong?
How you can look at Plex and come to the conclusion that anyone who Plexes their account doesn’t equal cash for CCP astounds me.
This is an insanely simple concept… Player 1 buys 500 Plex from CCP for 20 bucks (the ONLY way Plex is introduced into the economy is to purchase it from CCP… Duh) then lists said Plex on the market for isk. Player 2 purchases that Plex and redeems it for in game time. Player 1 gets isk player 2 gets omega…
You need some brain juice or something man. You’re not firing on all cylinders.
Sure, but my point is…you have to be making 25m ISK a day for each account…125m ISK a day to PLEX 5 accounts. I’m not questioning whether that can be done ( of course it can )…I’m questioning how many do actually manage that.
A single account player can PLEX a sub from exploration alone with moderate effort.
Also, I bet there are lots of single account players like myself who have reached the amount of SP they need for their modest playstyle and sell their monthly SP. This makes plexing for a sub trivial - as long as someone out there is willing to keep paying $20 to inject the PLEX into the economy.
it takes money to buy plex so that others can buy it off market and plex their accounts.
EvE online will exist as long as there are enough paying players to keep everyone making money. While it would be nice to see more players, this is a very niche game with a terrible reputation, and all the streamers and youtubers talk in monotones and are too technical to be interesting for the average person.
If you want to pull people in, you have a few options. qol changes by ccp, but more importantly, more constant action and a few good streamers. This comes down to the playerbase that already exists. Be interesting, or suffer the slow heat death of new eden.
I think you massively underestimate how much money most people make in this game and how easy it is. Like wildly underestimate it. You can run a couple t1 abyssals 20k off the jita undock once a day and make enough to plex an account. That’s why there are constantly buy orders up for tens of thousands of Plex. The isk flows.
Wormholers can plex for their accounts in a afternoon, there are much better ways to grind than AFK mining. Plus, you only need to make 66m a day to plex, that’s like 2 burners, 2 incursion sites, etc.
Realistically, any player can plex a couple of accounts it’s just harder to do when you’re unexpierenced
When I last played people were waiting hours to get into an incursion group. Is that not a thing now?
Getting those two burners takes time and preparing for them takes even more time.
People love to underestimate the time sinks involved in activities. “oh I made a bajillian plex in an hour!!!” but you spent 20-60 hours prepping for that one hour…
I get it everyone loves to brag about how amazing they are but realities need to be at least acknowledged.
EVE is a game about Mechanical skill, of course it should take time to learn the mechanics or to transport your ships to your mission bases or to learn the missions or whatever you need to do before you can run the high risk high reward content.
Also incursion waitlists seem to be about 30 minutes now, I think a lot of people switched over to running high tier Abyss, better isk per hour and solo.
