Local chat status updates

@CCP_karkur @CCP_Falcon

its about the local chat status updates
befor the chat change it used to be only 1 status message and if you change system again the old message was gone and only the new message was there … if not anyone wrote in local of corse

so now i do 15 jumps and 15 back and i have 31 local status messages in chat … often it doesnt scroll up … so if someone writes in local i cant see that

its about this messages_
[12:22:57] EVE System > Channel changed to Local : Amarr
[12:24:11] EVE System > Channel changed to Local : Jita
[12:25:12] EVE System > Channel changed to Local : XYZ
[12:26:15] EVE System > Channel changed to Local : grfxgrfx

is it possible to change this back to the old setting … so you only have 1 message or just dont give a message … i really dont know what the use of this message is …

This is great for reviewing log files.
The old system was terrible, you couldn’t tell what system you were in when someone said something.
This is the way it should be.

Are you sure? Reviewing some local log files I see the same as above in the files:

In the logs I do not see any difference between now and before the switch. The above log is from early January.

In other words: NO NO NO, we do not need to see this bovine waste ingame. This is decidedly not the way it should be ingame and in the logs it is no different than before.

I’m sure it didn’t used to be in there. 100% sure having parsed plenty of older log files. It is possible that they added it to the log files before the new chat system however, as part of the set up work which would explain why you can see it in Jan.
However it is still of use in the in game chat also.

No, it is not. The only thing it does is spam the chat with useless notifications and it scrolls out chat content sooner than before because of it.

Besides, I am absolutely certain that in the past the system would allow the same functionality with less spam. Whenever you switched a system, the location notification line would update in the same line. If someone said something and you switched systems afterwards, a new location notification line would be created that kept updating until a new player chat messages appeared.

It would be great to be able to “mute” certain types of notifications.
