Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

and if this is a reason for a communication/intelligence structure?

i seem to recall comms and intel structures being on the roadmap a few years ago.

i can easily see this being an excuse for the addition of a ‘communication bouy’ that will provide real time local chat, and a ‘system population scanner’ that tells the owning alliance who is in their system in real time…so like local chat, but only the sov holders can see it

actualy local is a essential tool for the alliances who do not have over 10k players wich are not that many alliances sicne they can drop a fleet on top of every attacker

Too much time spending on eve and lot of money, not probably i’ll spend money for be killed and fun for another players, probably is time for me to say my wife has right: have to quit eve and let them to take money from people who will play alone with CCP. No ships to be hunted means no fun for most, so in my oppinion CCP will take the toys from many…

LOL. It will be more Rorqs, more Supers and more power to whoever has a supercap umbrella.
Every small alliance will be WIPED as their expensive farming ships will be destroyed by garbage disposable crap.

You will enjoy your crap “leet” pvp for a month or two until everybody that is in killable ships will either quit the game or move to Goons and farm in Supers or Rorquals as those will be the only defendable ships.

I do agree that more thing’s need to be done to balance nullsec after this change like rework cyno so they are not instant so that smaller alliances don’t get completely obliterated by lots of capitals but I feel like CCP are just starting with major changes I would give it 3 to 4 months before we will have a better understanding of what new nullsec would be like.

That thing better use fuel based on the 24 hour average local population or imma be pissed. No better way to progressively tax it’s use.

that i agree on and yes nulsec can use a few balances

the thing is they should balance nuslec first in the way that the how bigger the alliance is the more handicaps they should have

the most fun including in pvp is with the 50 - 100 man fleets wich you commenly only see in smaller alliances

Best way to do that to be honest is depleting resources this would naturally cause people to not grow too dense, or maybe the huge nullsec alliances would form hierarchies of richer and poorer areas within the same region.

Despite the contradictory of this decision, i really appreciate that you, CCP, found in-game solution for reducing the bot-driven crab fleets! Thanks a lot, we will use first weeks of blackout to wipe them out!

P.S.
Subbing 50 accounts more!

im also talking isk base that for example every 100 man youre alliance grows the cost of that alliance also goes up with 100x than even the richer larger alliances would simply have to put work in to keep themselfs alive beside pvp

what can i say, its pretty funny to see that ppl who were saying “adapt or die” when ccp forced pvp oriented ppl to either quit or start mining moons now crying cause they need either adapt or die

Best suggestion I’ve heard on that front is reverse the effects of status on mining and combat sites. The higher the score the less spawns. Either keep your forces close and make little to nothing or spread out and become more vulnerable.

I still support this decision. Let the great hunt begin!

The beginning of the end of EVE …?

Interesting, going to lose a lot of subs over this but hey all you PVP’ers can hunt each other then… No more easy kills for you…

More like the end of Eve but the beginning of eve 2.0! It’s going to feel like a whole new game super excited!

that is something most pvpers are to lazy for they only look for "easy kills"and cry when someone warps out so they cant catch them and complain its a botter simply because he escaped

A change I’ve hoped for for years but never thought would actually happen. So glad to see it come true, hardly able to take it all in. This is such a blow to bots (and afk), and with that a revitalizer to the rest of the game and a remedy to the common perception that everything is more or less hopeless to compete with because of invulnerable bothordes in null. Not a single change I wanted more than this, thank you so much CCP
*Off to buy skins *

Would be kinda easy to improve cyno use too. Should have a decent wind up on the module, with a limit to how much mass can be jumped to it based on hull class, and when a ship jumps in it can’t target for a good while and breaks locks within a range meaning bubbles still work fine for trapping but it’ll hamper its use in hotdropping a bit. Covert cyno can stick with mass limiting I think cause that’s specifically a combat version of the regular cyno anyway. The cyno should be a logistics tool not an infinitely powerful weapon that can be used to instantly teleport in as much hell as you can fit through the far side.

william you only mention afk and bots as most

you forget active miners and ratters are affected just as hard
