I agree, never thought of a mass limit before but that sounds fantastic.
I see this all as a much-needed first step tbh
If I had to guess where weāll go next:
- local will be gone permanently in null
- CCP introduces FLEX Observatory structures that can, among other things, restore local
- But they can be destroyed too, unless the group setting them up can DEFEND them
Then you can go off farther and speculate with all sorts of other fun stuff. What if CCP brought in World Arks as a playable ship class, functionally mobile citadels?
- Have people be able to dock and stage out of them
- World Arks fall somewhere between a structure and a ship: true āmothershipsā
Let smaller player groups move around in those and be all nomadic, and have the larger more entrenched groups continue as they do & set up infrastructure~
Idk, thereās a lot CCP can do here that could be fun for the game - this is just a first, very necessary step.
uriel
if they would have placed those structures in eve before they would put something stupid liek this in the game i would agree with you
but THEY DID NOT so it stays a suicide move by ccp
As long as they have no reinforce timerās so that the residence are forced to go respond to it instead of just waiting for timers, but otherwise could work yea and maybe have a delay on those with faction more expensive versions having a shorter delay.
Because local is literally the only difference between nullsec and w-space, right?
actualy it means effort for the pvpers so yes they shoudl defenetly have ref timers so they can be defendet
yes it is
Thatās why Iām saying FLEX structures - like how Ansiblexes/Pharoluxes/Cyno jammers work
Ref timers main problem is that small groupās cant force a fight you need massive numbers then, but to counter they could be fast deploying decently cheap 50mil structures that take 1 hour to anchor, so if they are destroyed its a small burden to put them back up again.
No, itās not. But thanks for letting us all know that youāre some clueless moron.
Yea. My thought is that a frigate shouldnāt be able to call in a super but maybe a carrier or two for people just moving their stuff solo. Meanwhile on a battleship itās limit would be far higher and could pull in several supers or something. So on a big move OP for an alliance its gonna take a while unless say a carrier or two is put out in the open to light a super high mass limit cyno.
that sololy depends on the hp of structures
for example with 4 vnis ( currently so after trrhe nerf) they can ref a poco / custome in a 30 minutes
if a ref timer for that flex would be 2x that it would mean you on ly need like 10 ppl wich should be acceptable
Maybe a % of the mass of the ship the cynoās on.
it will drive players to big alliances. Herd mentality .
nah, that would only slow down attackers, the first step of an invasion should be to counter the enemy intel, so splat any means of identifying attacking fleet, then go for the real target
Would be neat to have Astrahus sized structures that can essentially teleport to an adjacent system after a 24 hour spool up timer or something. Timer stopped by shield reinforcement of course.
The problem with that thou is that supers and capitals will be waiting once that comes out of reinforce which again kills smaller strike groupās, gorilla warfare adds much more to the game than waiting for timers the whole time the amazing part of eve is dynamic combat at any time.
ever attack has to be slowed down and they already disrupt by sittig in a system with theyr fleet
so whats ur point ?
Funny I have lived in null for all of three months since 2014ā¦
ā¦I can fly around in billions.
The rest of it speaks for itself. Solo in supers or dreadsā¦found your problem.
that is correct only it would mean they have to have those on the right times and experience tell me that if you set ref timers properly it means they do not have the capability / ppl ready to drop those supers in the wrong timezone
