lol. “Relaxing” ?? When was it ever “relaxing” to play in null sec? You dont really play in null maybe?
We had a ton of fun in null the 4 years I played in null before this “blackout” that removed not only a social aspect but the atmosphere of seeing a system lived in - so well, I’m getting just a tad fed up of people just repeating how leet it is that they can shoot fish in barrels now and just completely ignoring all other impacts this has for many other aspects of the game. The people that cheer the blackout wanted it easier and they got it easier - from a vantage point where it was already “easy” to play the “correct” gaming style for EVE: n+1 or more like n+11 /nx2 so… I mean - how dishonest does it really have to be?? If youre already out to hunt opponents that are half your numbers and have a fraction of your firepower - why would THIS be essential to your gameplay and “needs” to feel EVE got substantially “better”. I mean - is this serious or just to “be right” and “win” any and all exchanges?? I care for the playability of EVE intensely - I want EVE to survive this. Some people here are here just to hover, be (seem) cool, and fling disparaging remarks - well, I can dish out those as well, I just dont see the point in this anymore - its not the kind of exchange I came for. Serious discussion or ignore. The “crying” “argument” etc. in this thread and similar - its just not at a level necessary - it doesnt help us make the game better in any way shape or form. But if this stays I hope and pray it doesnt kill EVE completely for any or all of us. I just dont see how it helps.
It’s been pretty trivial since April 2016.
and thats locals fault?
The immediate and always-accurate intel local provides is a contributing factor, yes.
We can bat this around like a cat with a dead mouse all we want. Till the numbers show…
Try mining or running anoms in your dead-end staging system with 50+ others around doing the same thing.
Instant local monitoring scouts several systems out, hell even add some large bubbles to a few of those gates on the chain. You’ll know 5 min minutes before you’re at any small risk that someone is coming.
Safe as safe can be.
Boring or relaxing depending on your point of view.
Now, someone might get through all of that undetected (which was literally impossible before the blackout) but you’re still pretty safe in your well populated staging system with its response fleet and or in range of the he cap umbrella.
On the otherhand, of you like solo farming a system in a blinged out ship all by yourself, yeah that’s not such a good idea now.
you didnt enjoy coming into a system and glancing at local and think: hey there’s my buddy, and there’s one of our favorite opponents to fight, - “how many are “home” today I wonder”? Or think where’s that guy I was about to ask something - etc. etc. There was tons of functions in just seeing a “house” a system being lived in - seeing the demographics for yourself, seeing how systems changed from day to day, week to week. The ability to make a mental map of your own region, enemy regions, assess how to move through regions. All that stuff. That made me enjoy the game - playing “in the dark” I could do in WH space - and I still can - and I can enjoy it - and now that I have become more proficient at scanning and probing I was looking forward to going into WH space and enjoying the difference. Now it’s just becoming a tedious chore and nothing that I’ll enjoy - I listened to people coming out of wormholes because they got really really tired of it - tired of the eternal scanning - and now I can really understand how it gets that way.
Did anyone catch this? The MCT in the upper left corner? Something new? I’m still climbing out from under my rock…
Edit; off topic
Wait and see.
If the developers can’t give a solution, I don’t plan to continue to subscribe.
I will play other games instead during blackout.
After patched the PVE risk in the null sec area is the same as the wormhole risk, but the income is only half of the wormhole area. I am very dissatisfied with this change and even annoyed me.
Hate the local black out. Eve worked for me before. Fleets for intense play, industry and pve for a more relaxed game time. Now half that equation is missing. I won’t take your give away time offer to hook me in for three months more…drop black out or tunes can go alpha. A world of other games and things to do in life than play something where the game owners just mess with their player base. Why don’t you turn off concord and see if you can make another segment of players hate the game.
Please explain, null has better resources I thought?
I dont see this saving this event at all. CCP got to stop listening to the vocal minority, these type of people have killed so many good mmo’s…
What? That CCP if offering good deals to save themselves after a bad mistake? Its not the deal that bothers me, just the timing. That’s just the impression I got from it.
Edit; seems like their promoting bots with this is all I meant.
CCP is offering during a live test. It’s a way to change the metrics. But judging on current live player count, I see a lot of people long gone.
To get the event set up would have taken discussions between the finance and other groups within the company. It’s not the sort of thing that’s going to happen in a panic on the Monday after 3 whole days of a test.
Nor does this event need ‘saving’. It needs about another 18-24 days just to collect a decent sample of data.
Give it time. Let them get their data. The only way you get anything fixed, instead of half-assed flailing, is if you’re patient.
That’s happened before. What’s so special this time would be my question I guess?
Finally we agree on something! Gives me hope for the real world!
better resources only in deadspace
Then how come moon goo isn’t the same as null? That’s the only matter I can speak on with any knowledge…
Just cause you cant use the resources that are in null does not mean they are not better in null than a WH? Is that what you mean?
