Exactly this. This is engaging social activity in the Eve universe. This is the “something” that made Eve special.
When I took my corp out of the Orphanage, we declared war on the Orphanage.
(The Orphanage of them was probabaly comparable to Pirat today).
There were 3 or 4 of us and we couldn’t project power well enough to hunt them effectively, but in our system (Akiainavas) we couldn’t be beaten because we had so many relationships.
All of those were formed at the business end of a gun.
The weakness of pve players isn’t their ships, it includes their skills… but their true victim hood is predicated on their absence of relationships and teamwork.
In that day, I had noobs in ospreys push my boat through more than one well-fit fleet from some of the best PvP groups in the game.
Those were noobs I flipped, or helped while someone else flipped them, or who baited me, or who I had some kind of interaction with… that transformed into a friendship of sorts.
That was a hell of a game we used to play.
