Looking for the best T3D ship/ fit for high sec explore/ combat site/ escalation

Hello,

After the event ends tomorrow I was looking to try one of the T3D for some high sec exploration, combat sites and escalations up to 4/10 I guess. I can currently fly the Hecate, jackdaw and Svipul. I would need 8 days to unlock the confessor.

Looks wise, I would say the Hecate, Svipul and Confessor are all pretty sharp with the jackdaw last, but I would like to use which is best and would appreciate any advice or fits. I am omega so I can use anything.

Thank you!

Mjolnir Fury Light Missile x5300
Caldari Navy Mjolnir Light Missile x5300

283 DPS at 59 km/232 DPS at 78 km, sharpshooter values (most relevant skills at V)
Aligns in 2 seconds with prop mode, very handy for going into LS
Buffer tanked, most damage mitigation is through range anyway
Capable of doing anything 4/10 and below as well as resulting escalations (check what you are going up against beforehand), can’t comment for anything else than Sansha and drones but I doubt they’d be much of a problem provided you change resists and damage type accordingly
Overall a very safe bet and efficient enough

440 DPS at 20 km/255 DPS at 73 km (+130ish DPS at 78) with lots of options in between, same conditions as Jackdaw
No 2s align
Not really tanked, if taking damage cycle the rep and keep pulling range
Capable of doing anything 4/10 and below as well as resulting escalations (check what you are going up against beforehand), however given that you’re locked into EM/Therm, your options are Sansha, Blooders and drones
Not as well rounded as Jackdaw but high damage options at close range and higher damage at sniping range gives it better optimization potential, also you know, lasers and stuff
Overall more optimized and engaged than Jackdaw, a bit more on the edge

Edit: Probe launchers fit on both no problem, it is just that my fits on pyfa didn’t have them

Problem is a lot of DED sites don’t let T3Ds and T3Cs to enter them. You’d be better off just using a command destroyer or something like that if you really want to use destroyers, or even a faction fitted Algos. Just put 3x faction DDAs on it, rest T2 stuff and have at it.

Also, a well fitted Worm, which is a faction frigate, can enter everywhere and do all PvE content that a destroyer can, though sometimes a bit slower cause you have to take extra time manuevering for tank etc. It is also a hell of a lot faster to train well into it then a T3D.

As for the scanning part, remember you can bookmark and save locations straight from the probe window, so its better to scan on a T1 scanning frigate, then switch ships and hit those bookmarks then wasting a T3D. Alternatively, you can even fit a probe launcher on a Gila but it requires high level skills 5s and 4s, or it will be too ineffective due to lack of probe strength. Many people do this BTW, run Gilas with probe launchers.

jackdaw has huge range on liths, and good dps on rockets. for ded3 rats are spread so you want to split your guns, I think rockets are good ; but you need a mwd (like most exploration combat sites anyhow) to put yourself in position.
for ded4 the commander may need specific strategies, like orbiting it at max range with mwd on to avoid most of the room DPS while you puncture his lungs with needles, then dive under the fire to catch the loot and escape unharmed .

That’s just t3c t3d can run em all

Edit: except possibly 1-10s but they can be run in corvetes

I used an Autocannon Svipul, split guns. Since the nerf I refit for PvE with extra invul for the scram, so I can better use the sharpshooter mode. But I’m not doing 3 and 4s anymore, instead focus on 5s with my PvP-Loki.

Hecakte is worst. Jackdaw is best. Tried all of em.

Yeah I’ve been reading and watching videos, seems the jackdaw is the best overall.

Confessor is good for BR/sanshas but will strugle with ded 4rs. Svipul has short range on autos so in dense pockets tank may be insuficient. Jackdaw has insane range on lml, dps may be low but look at alpha. In general depends on what site you want to enter. I did all guristas for HS in jackdaw (rated and unrated).

Thank you. I’m going to try a jackdaw first. In highsec which are the better sites to look for that can escalate? I see some I have to scan down and some are green like angel den, etc

This guy has paid for himself a few times over on a few different characters:

Small Capacitor Control Circuit II

Fun to fly too. I don’t hesitate to take that in to BR, Sansha, drone, or Serpentis sites. People seem to forget that Serpentis are actually weakest to therm.

A similar Hecate is possible, but I find myself going back to the Confessor time and time again:

[Hecate, frostline]

Better against Angels and Guristas, worse for anything else.

Jackdaw is boring as ■■■■, but it gets the job done. Don’t really have a recommended fit overall. Svipul is… fine. Putting an expensive A-type SSB on it ekes out quite a bit of performance while keeping 280s, but I still find myself flying the Confessor.
