I asked the same question in this thread but I figured I’d ask here as well since it seemed relevant.
Do we yet have a lore reason for the destruction of the old stations and if so what is it?

Not yet but maybe could just be a simple one. They became obsolete, due to better technology and structures design.
Are they actually going to erase them?
I think they could leave them and just have them closed to Capsuleer traffic.
