I also know why the Kyros has an ice hold (although I’m disappointed the mineral hold can hold reprocessed rocks but the ice hold can’t hold reprocessed ice… seriously please let it hold everything from ice but heavy water)
In light of the two, you’d think my reactions to people reacting to your trolling post would be “yeah go tell Bakster” but it’s not. 75% of the time I ask a non-corpmate “why does X work like Y” I’ll get a smug responce “you don’t know/ you’re not trying to think/ go figure it out yourself.” To me, if you’re going to rub it into someone’s face that they’re wrong, you should explicitly say why they’re wrong.
Well I can answer why the Ice hold doesn’t hold everything even though I’m quite sure this is a burner account or at least a station trading alt. Specialized haulers are meant to only carry specific commodifies so that it is easier to carry them in faster aligning ships without mucking up the hauling business by allowing alphas to undercut hauling of bulk items that don’t need tank.
If you want a general purpose hauler, get the Nerus, Occator, or Orca depending on your budget, desire for align time, and carrying size. And if you want to carry a fortizar, the game says “ha ha ha, go broke”
Why are you disappointed? The mineral hold cannot hold regular ore either.
The mineral hold can hold reprocessed rocks.
The ore hold can hold unprocessed rocks
The ice hold can unprocessed ice.
The infrastructure hold can hold reprocessed ice.
Why would you go broke carrying a Fortizar? It’s 80k m3.
A Torrent can carry 90k m3 in it’s infrastructure hold, enough to fit a Fortizar. I wouldn’t call a Torrent, a T2 Deep Space Transport, that expensive that you need to go broke.
I for some reason thought DSTs capped out at a little over 62K mm. Torrent seems to use similar skills as DSTs. I could have sworn the DSTs were just the 4 Empire’s stuff.

I honestly thought I knew every DST in the game. Apparently not so. I thought after all the times I was at Dodixie I would have seen every ship used in high sec and it never occurred to me that a ship used in HS existed that would not have been seen by me at some point (For ships that don’t show up in HS, Dreads don’t show up in high sec, JFs usually go to cynos which aren’t it there, and so on). I played quite a bit before last year so I’m surprised I never saw the Torrent before.
The Upwell haulers have been newly added last year, that’s why you didn’t know it yet.
The Torrent has less regular cargohold than the other DSTs but specializes in carrying goods that Upwell likes: structures, fuel products and deployables.
