If the Kryos ( its in the name) is supposed to be a dedicated refrigerated ice hauler, could it not, at the very least match the Miasmos in hold capacity?
I like eve lore and what the CCP attempts to do in creating specific bio on the ships. But if im running a miasmo, i can simply haul more compressed ice than the kryos… so, id prob never use it for its intended purpose. if the Ice hold was set to 50000m3, this would outperform the miasmos and would be a more spicy option for hauling ice..
The Primae - I added this one in since ive always wanted to see this bird become useful in the spirt of its class of ship. Now, CCP did hear me in the forums and gave the Primae a role some time ago when i came upon it and it was essentially mothballed and gutted with no use in the game. it is fetching a good price on the market ( more than the propoise at the moent). I feel though, its still a bit shy of what it could be capable of.
MY suggestion on this boat - make this an ice mining/gas mining variant of the porpoise with equal attributes but with the ability to compress ice and gas. The ship is a standing model in new eden. It would great to see this ship hold its own against its sister ships, the nocits and propoise.
You obviously didnt read the post. Theres no argument about ship uniqueness. Its about labeling a ship specialzed in a task, but making it less capable than the generic variant (Kryos/Miasmos)
Its also about rasing the argument again with CCP about the potential of the 3rd “ porpoise class” hull, the primae that could actually have some specialization and balance.
Just so you have some background… when i found the primae years ago, it was a dead fish with no useable traits. I posted about this ship, and CCP listened. and made it a bit more functional. Im re asserting the request to balance the ship and make it on pare with its isster ships, especially now that destroyers with gas and ice mining are entering the fray.

You keep imagining problems where there are none, and getting mad that I’m not agreeing with you. Not seeing where that’s my issue.
Nothing you’ve posted in this, or the other topic, are issues in need of any sort of resolution. Sometimes you’ll want Kryos, but it’s okay that you would usually go for a Miasmos. None of these ships have anything wrong with them. Nothing needs resolved here. It’s okay to not use a Kryos to haul ice because the Misamos hauls more. It’s also okay to not use a Miasmos because a DST hauls more.
Once again, there is no issue here, you’re merely complaining about your personal preference.

Yeah, thats sort of the basis for my post. If the Kryos is “designed” to be a specialized transport for ice (and minerals) theyen why the smaller hold than the miasmos? It just seems logical that that boat will never see ice so long as the miasmos carries more.
Actually, the origin of the Primae was a dead ship… didnt hold anything The ship was more like a meme ship to go along with the noctis salvager ( info on google re primae noctis)… It became a PI ship roughly after i raised the issue with ccp years ago. im re-raising the issue to update its functionality, especially since Edencom ships have a fleet of PI haulers now.
RE the Kryos, that is correct, but my argument circles around a “ specialized” ice ship that holds less of that product than its generic counterpart.
This patch has been showcasing industry ( mining) and so i thought it a good time to post about this boat.
They’ve got different types of holds, not everything has to be the same.
The Kryos may be able of carrying ice, it also has a lot of it’s space dedicated to refined ore products.
The Miasmos only carries raw mined products.
And the Primae… I ignore it’s ignore it’s existence. It’s a mostly useless limited edition ship that was once handed out to be hangar trophies. Maybe if CCP ever adds a blueprint for it it might require a rebalance to become useful, but until then the use of the Primae is to be another check mark to tick off for ship collectors. Planetary industry hauling is better done in an Epithal or better yet, one of the new Upwell haulers: Squall, Deluge and Torrent. Personally I use Deluges on my characters.
That i can say is a win.. the upwell additions invigorate the under-used PI. CCP clearly wants that section of the economy moving. I have 12 epithals for my tunes and an avalanche to mass haul it out of town.
It is though. You can carry ice and compressed ice in a mining hold. It’s thus designed to carry ice. It’s got a hold dedicated to it. With max skills, it looks like it’ll hold 63,000 m3 of ice or compressed ice.

Also the iteron is a stupid long choo choo of a ship but holds less than a Tayra ( unless i did something wrong in the fitting simulator)
And if thats true, id say that they back shelved balance & dev updates on the galiente haulers. You cant have a visibly larger ship that holds tons less.. just doesn’t scan…
Not trying to knock the devs.. they do good work, but the hauler class definitely needs an update in structure and performance… May sound gooft, but if they simply gave the Kryos Miasmos hold capacity for ice, id just start using that. Then make the miasmos a dedicated ore hauler with improved capacity , then hell make the iteron the mineral hauler and give it Kryos capacity or better since its moving uncompressed goods Then buff Nerus general cargo capacity and a bonus for a limited number of loaded containers since its other attributes are great for space trudcking on small scale as is.
just my .2 on that… id love to sing in the ear of CSM on this..
