Manual piloting - myth or the real thing

In pvp it is not. There are a few situations where manual piloting is pretty much mandatory, such as when you’re spiralling in to get under someone’s guns, or slingshotting to pull range on someone. This is effectively what manual piloting is.

So I figured we should have the discussion with the communications center crowd… manual piloting, real or no?

it is real in both PvE and PvP - if you want to avoid getting blapped you have to approach/disengage target using spiral trajectory so that you always have decent angular speed relative to them.

i doubt anyone uses FPP for flying spaceships.

Just to clarify - You’re quoting me without quoting the question I am answering. The way you have currently framed it, it may be construed as if I’m saying manual piloting is not a real thing, while I’m actually saying the opposite: it’s not a myth.
