with the cargo upgrades I put in the Nestor I was at around 2,793 m3 of cargo hold. which I think is ok for some spots of mining. nothing efficient mind you.
If I just want to mine then I will park the Nestor at a refinery or station and just take the Venture or prospect out for the mining.
the MTU was volume of 100 m3 and a capacity of I though had cargo capacity or 27k m3?
I don’t know this device very well so I don’t even know how much cargo it will take up when it gets put in my hold. I don’t know if it will take up 100 m3 as per its volume or 27.1k m3 when full. is it some sort of compression tech or what not. I am too new to understand. I just saw it on Nestor builds and thought there must be some reason they are all using it.
I kind of thought that’s what you were thinking. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. The MTU is 100m3 and when you deploy it, it has a cargo of 27,000m3. But you have to transfer that cargo to your ship’s cargo hold. If you try to scoop a non-empty MTU, it simply deposits any remaining cargo in a jet can in space. Unfortunately, there’s no magic compression that fits 27km3 into 100m3. However, there is magic compression that fits 3900m3 into 3000m3 (the GSC). Just FYI.
Here’s a thought. Have you looked at the Stratios? Lots of high slots, you can fit a covops cloak, a probe launcher, and still have room for a Miner II or similar. See what you can get cargo-wise with expanders, etc., and it might do for scanning/explo and light mining in a single ship.
