when mining in hisec the asteroids are so small that they pop like popcorn, and it super tedious to click through 600milion options to just compress, and then stack all in your miners. would love to see some improvements in the UI to give you Auto-compress when your in a fleet with an mining command ship.
second feature is to have an option in the Ui to allways enable Auto-stack all.
think these features/options would make, mining way more enjoyable, then clicking, and clicking, right clicking 600milon times
I think Auto Compress should be a toggle for the mining foreman.
Auto Stack should be a toggle in the inventory screen for basically everyone, for any items, and then have a āsplit stackā in the context menu (that last oneās for anyone playing with nonstandard controls, on the steam deck I have to hold a button with my right pinkie finger while dragging items to do a split stack)
If you want it to stack better, wait a second between mining beams so the game can properly process one cycle completion before having to do the other.
You donāt need further reasons to alt-tab to Netflix.
So why suggest an idea thatās only going to promote more people botting?
Do you have any idea how much easier it would be managing my multibox mining fleet if I didnāt have to cycle through each client to compress? Your idea gives me the ability to just setup in a belt and not have to do anything but change rocks and watch local until the exhumers are full. While the number Iāve got currently maxes my multitasking abilities, your idea would let me run at least double the number of miners without increasing my workload.
I caught part of that deleted post, the part about the tedium of mining, and I completely understand. I only mine when I absolutely have to anymore. Thatās the reason I multibox it, so I can get it done ASAP when I need to do it. The answer to breaking the tedium isnāt in automation but in variety.
Have you tried ninja mining? Huffing gas in wormholes? These avenues can be quite profitable and exciting, breaking the tedium of regular mining. Best of all, they can be done effectively, if not efficiently, in a cheap Venture, so youāre not risking a whole lot in ships.
Also, find friends to mine with. Join a nullsec allianceās industry arm and revel in the safety of the Big Blue Donut. Just having people to chat with while you viciously assail defenseless rocks makes it less boring.
Your argument makes no sense. Not that I approve this idea, but argumenting about bots is nonsense.
Bots can do this easily. Bot is fully automated, and compressing ore is something I can code myself, that is just some clicking in inventory into predetermined places. This is the easiest the bot can do.
It however supports bot-aspirants who mine semi-afk while watching porn or nerflix.
What we need is to make mining more active activity, not less.
Not really, i have a very active play style. And at least for me these quality of life canges would make the game a whole lot more fun for me at least thank you all for all the uniq inputs much appreciated all.
I miss the days where miners had to store their ore in the fleet hangar of the support ship for compression.
Magical remote compression in your barge just because itās flying next to an Orca makes no sense. It breaks logic and robs mining support ships from the main activity they had, just for more convenience for the miners.
And still miners manage to complain that it is not convenient enough, as we can see in this thread: magical remote compression should apparently happen automatically to be truly convenient.
With evey step towards āconvenienceā or in other words ālower actions per minuteā for mining gameplay, mining becomes more and more more easily multiboxed.
Every āmining QoLā change pushes miners into multiboxing more ships if they want to keep the same payout.
Why can CCP not go the other direction instead?
A direction in which mining becomes a more active playstyle requiring more clicks and interaction. A direction away from multiboxing which makes managing your own dozen mining ships impractical so that all miners get paid a lot more ISK per ship for their time.
Less automation, more interaction and as result better pay. Those are the mining QoL changes I would like to see before I consider mining again.
Because pushing players into multiboxing means more $$$ earnedā¦
Also wast majority of players do not want what you propose. They are completely satisfied with how low active activity mining is and will reject any ideas that would break the current status.
