Missions: An Idea

Make the Buildings drop relevant stuff:

Gas Silo = A tiny harvestable cloud
Facilities with people = NPC Corpses
Shipyards = Salvage
Stations = Corpses and PI/Commodity’s
etc. etc.

This can be implemented along other update to the missions and make it a bit more ‘realistic’.

Also make buildings destructible by default with an amount of EHP that is doable by the rating of the site (L1=frig/des; L4=BC/BS) or anomaly/signature.

For what purpose? To make missions take even longer?

Anyone who’s done missions has probably wondered what would happen if some of the buildings could be destroyed. However, the outcome often feels a bit anticlimactic, which suggests the developers may have overlooked some details. Improving this aspect could really enhance the experience and be beneficial for the game overall.

It would be your choice to interact with the environment, so no you could still blitz the sites. It is just meant for immersion. Even the proposed gas cloud would be so tiny that it is debatable worth it to huff.

As for your idea, some of the structures in Mission / Exploration Combat sites can already be destroyed… Some of those will drop various items such as Trade Goods, Munitions, PI Commodity’s, Minerals, etc…

I’m aware that about 10% of the buildings can be destroyed often they have nothing on board or have such huge EHP that they are effectively undestroyable. This is meant for every building.

Should be Features and Ideas.

Highsec has enough risk free income streams, it doesn’t need more.

idk, i make more money in null sec then in high sec

As you should.

Highsec has coded safety measures to keep players safe, where nullsec is only as safe as your alliance can make it. Granted, that’s quite safe for some alliances and not as safe for others, but there’s no magic space police to smite the bad guy in nullsec.

So 99% of people wouldn’t interact with it, the only reason to interact with missions is to farm money or LP, so blitzing is the optimal way to do them

I agree Sara, this should be moved to Features and Ideas. I also agree with Gardeline, this would add a layer of immersion into the game. I recall one of the career missions has you take out a narcotics lab in space and warns you not to pick up contraband items. Nothing ever drops from the lab and it lacks any kind of relevance to why the agent should warn you about something that never occurs.

Since we did the mini-video on boarding a new ship, how about a mini video of us completing the mission. Yes, talking in stations with agents would be neat, too.

If you do the completion in a certain sequence, then you get the video. If not, no video and the bitter vets can continue to blitz their missions and make EVE boring as possible. :+1:

I am not talking about a video, there is existing dialog with an agent “Cash Flow” 9 of 10;

Where the agent dialog warns you about looting the warehouse, but nothing ever drops from it. It is abundantly clear to me, the author of the dialog is not the same developer who programmed the actual mission. This lacks immersion because the dialog doesn’t sync with the actual game play. Players should be able to make mistakes or choices on any given mission.

As for those ship boarding videos, I turned them off in the options. In this generation of players, who seem to lack the discipline of reading text, I wouldn’t mind them adding audio to the dialog. However massive audio dialog libraries rack up a lot of drive space. If they used a quality text to speech engine, they take up less room, and don’t need the expense of voice actors. The ship boarding “video” is actually just panning the 3D camera in game across an existing 3D model. Not sucking up any addition drive space or RAM.

In the end, it is up to those at CCP to decide.

Lvl 4 missions should have random faction drops/implants/etc to increase their isk earning potential.

Want more isk? Stop playing in Carebear Wonderland protected by Magic Space Police.

Nothing is risk free in Eve.

Except for L4 missions in a T2 fit Marauder. Rats can’t kill you, gankers won’t usually bother. As long as you don’t fall for idiotic suspect bait, it’s completely risk free.

I think that sort of change would require too much resources. Current observations tells me the team of developers would have a difficult time with that change. Rats already drop items, when ore mining mark the rats you take out, then return with a salvager. If you are on mission, mark the wrecks, and return with the salvager. They will remain where you left them for at least an hour.

Have fun!

CCP used to have more things in structures years ago but people farmed them too much and they were ruining the economy and so were taken out slowly but surely. Structures, ore in missions, and faction spawns in missions. Slowly taken out over the years.
