CCP, just give us official tools to multi-box and broadcast-input.
Level the playing field.
We all know that 25 Kusion alts are using BI. And you are looking the other way because that’s 25 subscriptions.
Just make it official. Hell, I’d fire up multiple accounts if you would just facilitate it and stop pretending like it’s against EULA.
No accusations made against specific individuals. Just broad generalizations about faceless nameless theoretical players.
You think? lol
Pathetic, isn’t it?
Not only the immersion, it’s killing the online financial operation.
Not for a second. Multiboxers are or are prone to cheating. Multi-boxing is a cheaters’ tool.
It’s obvious there are cheating and it’s hilarious that CCP thinks we don’t know.
This online financial operation is no better than PlanetSide2, that one is full of cheaters, too.
We as in you, having a false sense of importance and a tendancy towards nosism.
I agree. PlanetSide2 is horrible in term of cheating. But I have about accepted that all these online games have cheaters in them and that the devs sometimes can’t do anything about it or, as is the case with EVE, facilitate it.
I have always looked at online games with a wary eye, ever since the first few ones came out all those years ago. Now I know why I had a bad feeling about them.
I can go back even further than that, Iohn. I used to play on the rubber-keyed ZX Spectrum. As a single player, there were well-known gaming magazines which contained (among other things) lists and lists of ‘cheat codes’ for every popular game.
I never used them, but watching associates who did accustomed me early to the fact that there were, are, and always will be people who want to reach a desired goal without putting in the effort usually required.
One of these people always ‘clocked’ games quicker than any of the rest of us - but he didn’t tell me until much later that, not only did he use cheat codes, but he always played on ‘Easy’ mode, where it was available.
Perhaps it made him feel better about himself!
I concentrate on my own game, my own performance, my own progress. If others cheat, I just let them get on with it. If it affects my play, it isn’t the end of the world.
I do trust CCP to tackle overt cheating, though EVE players have frequently astonished me with their ability to innovate by exploring the game’s mechanics in a creative way…
I’m not. Nobody else is, why should we follow any rules?
I think it should be official too, so what if 1 person is running 25 accounts , gankers can still be stopped by 2 or 3 people.
If you have a mind to , any multiple boxer can be stopped if what they do upsets you.
Bots on the other hand are a bit different .
Indeed you are
It seems silly to cry about ‘ganker’ bots, which aren’t a thing, while you turn a blind eye to the mining and freighter bots which are a thing.
My opinion is that multiboxing is cheating. But I don’t mind if people cheat in online games, some of those games are so hard or playstyle so inaccessible that cheating is the only way. I don’t think it’s a negative on the players who cheat, I think it’s a negative on the game.
If players feel that they have to cheat to reach their goal then there’s something wrong with the game.
Or, to put it another way…
If folks feel that they have to commit robbery in order to be able to afford to buy a car, then there’s something wrong with the price of cars.
I don’t think your position is defensible, at least, objectively. You could certainly mount a defence along the lines of ‘I feel that it’s cheating, therefore (for me) it is cheating.’ If you did this, you would surely find favour with those who experienced similar feelings on the subject, but you would struggle to convince those taking a more rational position.
You would be unlikely to persuade the hard-nosed business folks at CCP!
I’m not on trial.
Thank you.
O but your idea is on trial, Whyatever!
‘Trial’ is simply another word for ‘Test’. Look it up. You offered an opinion in an open forum; did you not expect it to be analysed - tested? If you did not, then you are guilty of arrogance, in assuming that everyone else reading your comment would either agree with you or, failing that, let it pass.
I am not such an one, Whyatever.
I note that you do not dispute my initial findings - perhaps, because you cannot do so, perhaps also because you lack the will or ability to do other than make an off-the-top-of-my-head comment.
I am prepared to be proved wrong about my assessment of your contribution; it happens.
The Court awaits…
Why would it be cheating when - obviously - it’s neither rule breaking nor exploit ?!
Buying PLEX to get ahead is cheating, sold by CCP to make money
That’s still not cheating, it’s giving in to temptation
Anyway, this is about multiboxing, not buying plex
The omega accounts for multiboxing are paid for with PLEX , sold by CCP.
OMG, really ?
