Multibox performance after recent patch

I usually run 12 clients, prior to the patch they were using roughly 4GB vram overall now it’s around 7.5GB out of my total of 8GB giving me performance issues while using browsers and such. I’m not sure if anyone else is having this issue and I don’t see any reason for the vram usage to have almost doubled. None of my settings have changed, I was using dx12 before the patch and it was fine. Is there something I can do to reduce my vram usage? I’m already running everything on the lowest settings.

I have been having issues too, so much lag now when trying to play with 9 accounts. No issues before the update

i also have 9 characters actually and i have been having the same issues.

i just now reinstalled windows cleaned my pc reinstalled all drivers and reinstalled eve all clean installs.
i wasnt even using 50% of my resources before the patch now im using 100% and getting stuttering on all my characters.

its also V-ram issues i presume. since im running on 8gb now with 9 clients instead of 4-5gb.
i have a AMD RX 580 XFX 8gb card.

I’ve also noticed that sometimes it will be fine for a hour or 2 and then gets worse and worse.
Before the patch it was all fine and expanded my fleet and its looking like i got to unsub some alts to make it work again.

Same here running lower specs rtx550 2gig and 16 gig ram on razer 5 3.7ghz but i cant run two clients anymore. Anyone knows what the problem is i like to fix it without getting a knew comp seems like ram goes to 9gig so i think it is the rtx, but what changed that i cant run this anymore i already run on performance or memory mode

Same problem here. Everything was working great until recently.

I created a support ticket on this issue 5 days ago, so far no response to it

Returned after 6+ months break. Just before quitting, there were visual changes around undock animations, which introduced perfomance issues for me multiboxing clients. (~15 clients was possible without any issues before)

Now trying just two omega clients introduces client freezes. I have set everything to low, have tried various suggested fixes. (directx 11, high dpi scaling, ctrl+shift+f9, various settings I found in other threads…) But nothing seems to really help. My PC is old by now, but I feel like it should still be possible to multibox in all potato mode.

Hi Fellow Players, I too have been having major issues with CPU usage after the patch.
I run what you might call a high end gaming rig - AMD 7950X, 64Gb Ram. AMD 6950XT, 2 X 27" 1440p 165Hz Monitors locked at 60Hz. I am a long time player started in 2003 so I have seen issues come and go, I run 10 acc’s 1 X Orca and 9 Barges. I have used for a long time now the “optimized for memory” option for graphics. Before the Dreaded Patch I was hovering around 75% CPU usage with fluctuation from 70%- 80% which was fine fps was rock solid on the focused window at 60fps and GPU usage was so little that most the time the fans would be idle and VRam usage was not an issue although now I am using 6Gb from my 16Gb. Now its an awful gaming experience, I have had to reduce to 5 Barges and my CPU usage is crazy high 60% to 95% and the fps is all over the place from 25fps to 45fps which is which is bad experience but this is on 6 acc’s, so just imagine how bad it would be on 10 acc’s as other people here I have not changed anything - The patch is the only thing that has changed. Sadly for for me since I use Linux the CCP have the perfect get out clause because they don’t officially support Linux and I have heard rumour’s that CCP want to block actively block Linux users when they force all users onto Win 11 for what ever reason so my EVE gaming will stop at that point after 20+ years !

Just from my end, restarting windows graphics drivers has greatly helped and I think the issue is fixed (atleast for me) through that. My PC is turned on often for long periods of time without restarts, maybe playing other games has something todo with it.

Default hotkey on win10/11 should be Ctrl+Shift+Win+B

I’ve seen similar comments over the past month. Try the usual checklist:

  • Update graphics drivers
  • Clean up any programs running in background
  • Check your FPS to see if any tabs are running way too high (Ctrl-F or Ctl-Alt-Shft-M)
  • Turn on V-sync
  • Try it in DX 11
  • Adjust post-processing, ambient occlusion, shadows etc. Especially settings affected by recent patches.
  • Check to see if it’s only tabs with ships docked in stations, or happens anywhere.

And keep CCP loudly informed if you find that continual graphic fiddling which degrades performance more than it enhances visuals interferes with your EVEing.

ive been searching some troubleshoot solutions to my own fps issues also, this is about a good list of some things people can try.

i would like to point, that usually turning OFF the v-sync as well as DX12 is way forward to some form of fps stability…from what others seem to suggest wherever i read.

my own issue is trying to bring down fps in my unfocused clients after setting an fps limit with rivaturner statistics server; it was 30fps on unfocused clients and fps in focused client fluctuating from 150 to 800fps, now with 60fps on unfocused and a fps limit set on focused.

if anyone here has suggestions i run amd cpu and gpu, single monitor, and wins 10.

Im finding if a client Im using is undocking, gate jumping or warping around more than the others, I check the CPU usage on my PC and that specific client is using 50% more cpu than the clients that have mostly remained idle since login.

Once said client has started behaving in this way, docking and remaining idle does not effect the CPU usage in a positive way moving forward. I have to log the client out to release the CPU load.

This just started happening since the latest patch.
