My pov about the game returning on it after 8 years

basically anything that prevent mass suicide squads to do it 15 times per day. HS space is already a very few profitable area that make naturally new players move into ls / ns / wh anyway, no need to push their head even deeper in the water with suicide squads that kills for fun imo

If you think Highsec is unprofitable you aren’t doing the right tasks.

Plenty of profits to be made in High Sec relatively easy and very much unlikely to be pirated by the fine folks of Safety.

Perhaps you should consider Homefronts, though you can’t AFK those as easily.

took me 2 days and 200M invesment to ellaborate a strategy to beat burner dramiel with my 3 low skilled alts, (was doing L4 missions for the first time) all i got rewarded was 5M in bounty and 8k LP. didn’t felt very rewarding for the difficulty of the task. do you mind share how u do those huge profits in HS ? i tried industry but i sold at loss the 2 faction ships i made, manufacting it in a low tax citadel and even buying the ressources with order buy, not immediate. i feel it needs a lot of skills to be profitable in that path.

I hope that one day you’ll realize that the reason why those activities aren’t profitable is specifically because of the endless, teeming masses of players engaging in them while generally being nearly perfectly safe and protected from exposure to loss from PvP.

People who get ganked are quick to talk about the handful of players who quit due to that experience, but I guarantee that EVE’s economic glut and lack of profit margins for low-to-mid-range PvE/industrial activities make the game lose considerably more players (and payers). But it’s a problem no one talks about, because it’s not a problem that most people see, since it lacks that [chef’s kiss] public outrage je ne sais quoi.

there has to be low income activites in high safe space to force people take risk and go ls / ns / wh, i realise it and i don’t mind. i don’t really see it as a problem. how would you fix it ? i usually dont play in HS, here i’m just testing things

About industry, i don’t understand it enough to have an opinion. it seems necessary to have tremendous skills in that branch to start making profits - skills that intuitivly a new player woud not invest in.

sounds a bit like real world where you don’t want to start an industry like a car brand where giants are already in place.

The point is that we need more consumption via destruction, not less. If you real the old-school economic reports and the new monthlies that CCP puts out, you can see how the production/destruction delta skyrocketed after the two “CrimeWatch” phases (which drastically nerfed various forms of non-consensual PvP in high-sec) in 2012/2014, from a stable 1.5 growth factor to something like 3-4 (and growing). There are nice graphs.

When you lost your ship to the gank, it might’ve felt bad, but it did wonders for the economy. And the solution isn’t to simply “send the gankers to 0.0” like all the frothy-mouthed carebears keep repeating. That area of space, populated by roughly 15% of the player base, can’t sustain the requisite level of consumption by itself. High-sec, containing about 75% of the game’s population, needs to contribute its fair share, and that share is at its historical all-time low. If you want your economic output to have reasonable value, you’ll need to start losing and destroying much more stuff.

Just before they change a 20 year old very iconic mechanic to accomodate you, have you tried to actually chose the right ship, fitting and tools like dscan and I don’t know, movement to avoid such dangers?

Just ask if you don’t figure it out on your own, we can help you. It’s like a pretty big part of what is called “playing the game” to plan around avoiding such risks and not actually a shortcoming of the game

First off, welcome back to EvE Online.

Second, allow me to express my surprise for the request about nerfing hisec ganking by a player who used to play in w-space.

Basically.

My ennui quit was the rolling out of indy related changes.

First they killed the old ways of ME/PE. So many man hours wasted to tweak even battleship BPO’s. Here is your ME 10, happy? No. No I was not. And all the skills to get max ME effiency taken away.

But you can make things…faster! I did not care about speed. Like most good builders back in the day I timed stuff to put in the oven to come out after I went to bed/work lol.

They started tiericide.

It Affected BS’s. we want to make all BS tiers vialble. No one likes scorpion so lets make Raven and rokh more expensive! this is why no uses scorpion!

Like scorpion now? Nope. It also got expensive as hell. And It was still a one trick pony in pvp with the abiitlty to fit bonused burst jammer.

I’ve used it. It worked well. And it was a high chance of suicide run. you land in clusters, pop the burst jammer. and pray you can warp out.

Niche ship for pvp and pve. this was was why scorpion was not liked. same really for most other racial tier 1’s. tier 3 was the pvp. tier 2 was the pve. tier 1 was…he bs you flew when tier 3 or 2 was not in the markets and jsut stuck. Or…to make the blops like scorpions make widows.

and then made the indy workflow or those god awful to sell PI.

This lead up to the eve vacation. Now I come back since the fw looked interesting. And has delivered fun so far.

What’s abusive is you pretending like people who play a game as intended, are somehow griefing you, while you admit that you are AFK and only want easy passive isk (which you don’t deserve).

Another person asking about the lack of consequences. He hit the nail on the head with this post.

You would be upset to know that consequences have been diluted too, tags being the most important one. Eve is now a niche PK game sadly., once it was much more than that.

Q: What are the consequences for AFK mining?
A: Ganking.

With pod kill.

The true shame there. Ships are ammo to some in this game. But the pod…that getting popped as well is just something you want to avoid.

Yeah, welcome back to Gank Online and it’s toxic forum echo chamber. Check the forum posting history of the characters replying in this thread.

As for the game, actions v consequences and risk v reward have been heavily skewed and unbalanced for quite a while now.

To stay halfway safe in high sec space, use a sub 2 sec align ship or a cloaker ship, keep an eye on Local, spam Directional Scan, don’t use Auto Pilot and manually warp to jump/dock at all times.

Other than that, good luck with the game.

Thank you!

The easiest way to make massive isk in HS is to mine.

It’s baffling to me how anyone can sit AFK and not expect there to be fireworks. This is the same mindset as the kiddos who expect EVE Online to be free and provide everything without them having to pay anything for it.

Are you perhaps one of those karens who expects everything to be free IRL and then scream and shout when the cops arrest you for disorderly conduct?

He said he had alt-tabbed, he was not AFK, AFK means Away From Keyboard. The correct thing to accuse him of was not paying sufficient attention. Please read what people say before responding.

Dracvlad, AFK means you are not paying attention.

I know you roleplay as a human dictionary, but an important part of being a humanoid is that you learn to recognize what people really are saying.
