Myrmidon PVE Level 3 active armor

Hi guys, I am an one-month alpha pilot who got a Myrmidon to run level 3 recently.

I wish I could put 5 hybrid guns instead of 4 on high slots but I guess I need Drone Link Augmentor to get more drone control range. DPS gets hurt a bit…

I’ve noticed some people will put 2 Drone Navigation Computer. Is that necessary?

Can you give me some recommendations to improve my fit overall?

[Myrmidon, **tigeryi’s Myrmidon]

Damage Control II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Omnidirectional Tracking Enhancer II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Medium Armor Repairer II

Medium Cap Battery II
Cap Recharger II
Drone Navigation Computer I
X5 Enduring Stasis Webifier
10MN Monopropellant Enduring Afterburner

250mm Prototype Gauss Gun
250mm Prototype Gauss Gun
250mm Prototype Gauss Gun
250mm Prototype Gauss Gun
Drone Link Augmentor I

Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Anti-Explosive Pump I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Warrior II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Federation Navy Hammerhead x5
Federation Navy Ogre x4

Federation Navy Antimatter Charge M

I would replace the tracking enhancer with a third drone damage amplifier, replace the webifier with a scripted omnidirectional tracking link (tracking speed script), take all but one small gun off and put another drone link augmentor on, put another capacitor rig and a drone speed rig on

myrmidon gets drone bonus’, go full droneboat with it.

train gallente battlecruiser up to IV, then lots of drone skills (good for many different ships with drones - which is many - anyway), then gallente battlecruiser V. drones skill first, drone navigation , then drone durabilty, then drone avionics, drone interfacing, drone sharpshooting
my opinion. o7

Your myrmidon is overtanked for L3 missions. Most missions will struggle to get through your shields. You don’t need the armour tanking rigs. Your fit would probably run many L4 missions happily, perhaps swapping the reactive for two rat specific active hardeners. I have been running L4 missions in a Gnosis.
You can drop the Damage Control and add a third Drone Damage Amplifier.
You can add your 5th gun by using a Drone Control Range Augmentor rig instead of the Link though you do lose 5km drone control range.
Kill frigates by running directly away from them to aid your guns tracking.

remember you can use a rig for drone control range. If you trained drone rigging it won’t hurt your CPU that much.

Thx, I thought about this but O tracking link is Omega only so I guess as an alpha I can’t use this module.

I have noticed people over stack Drone Link augmentor in high slot or Drone Navigation Computer In mid slot. Is there any stack penalty for this fitting? If you have 2 augmentor, do you get additional 40km drone control range?

I have some Gnosis but I am not confident to use battle cruiser to run L4 at all. If you don’t mind, can you post what’s your Gnosis fit for L4? I am very curious.

Thx guys this is really helpful. I guess I will take out anti explosive rig for drone range rig. I always think armor is not resistant to explosive damage

Thx for your advise. It’s a trade off between ehp and dps. A new player like me always like a bit more tank due to inexperience. But I wish I could have 3 drone damage amplifiers.

Its totally normal to err on the side of safety initially. As you get more confident in a ship and the missions you want to reduce tank so you only have as much as you need which allows you to have more dps so reduce incoming damage quicker and finish missions quicker. Also use to understand what you will be encountering in the missions. The Myrmidon is quite a good starter BC because of its repair bonuses. You probably want to use 5 scout drones in L2s. As you encounter more cruisers in higher level missions switch more to mediums but always keep 5 lights too.

There is no stacking penaly on drone link augmentors ie each one gives +20km.

My Gnosis fit uses:
5 250mm railguns (T2 or prototypes)
1 drone link augmentor

10mn mono afterburner
Large cap battery
F-90 sensor booster or shield boost amplifier
2 rat specific hardners - Dread Guristas as I can’t use T2 - also consider Pith C-type
1 Pithum c-type medium shield booster (could use T2 with a shield boost amplifier)

3 T2 drone damage amplifiers
3 T2 Magnetic field stabilizers

1 T1 and 1 T2 cap circuit rigs
1 T1 cpu overclocking rig

5 T2 scout and 5 T2 medium drones ( consider faction drones until you can use T2)

The secret in L4 missions is to be able to run your AB and shield booster permanently so you don’t have to think about them and can focus on killing stuff. Also initially keep aligned so you can warp out if you get in trouble and kill all frigs asap - you do not want to get webbed. Conversely you want to get quite close to Battleships as they won’t be able to hit you then.

This will romp through L3 missions, as will your Myrmidon when your skills improve. Only trouble with the Myrmidon is that your ultimate max dps is tied to using heavy drones which are slow.

Hope this is useful.

Have fun

EHP is useless if you don’t fit oversized shield ship (eg mach in a L3) .
specialized rigs are useless 3 out of 4 missions. use an energized specific membrane II if you are short on skills, a specific plating if you are short on skills and fit, a reactive armor hardener if you are a lazy carebear (like me).

3 DDA is mostly useless if you can afford to add guns in the highs. remember your drones are delayed damage.

basically with T2 guns (you can downgrade) :

[Myrmidon, yor mama so fast]
Reactive Armor Hardener
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Medium Armor Repairer II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Tracking Computer II
Stasis Webifier II
Large Compact Pb-Acid Cap Battery
10MN Monopropellant Enduring Afterburner
Cap Recharger II

250mm Railgun II
250mm Railgun II
250mm Railgun II
250mm Railgun II
250mm Railgun II

Medium Drone Control Range Augmentor II
Medium Drone Control Range Augmentor I
Medium Ancillary Current Router II

Federation Navy Hobgoblin x5
Hammerhead II x5
Federation Navy Ogre x4

Thorium Charge M x200
Optimal Range Script x1

your guns are here to shoot small fries from afar. I have 36+18 km range, only issue should be the elite frigates and web drones : web them and use hobs. For ds/cr use medium drones, for BC/BS use heady drones. you can have a tracking script but most likely yo don’t want to shoot things that are too close : instead focus on incoming small targets to snipe them. Once it’s done you can switch to AM+tracking script to kill hugging hobos.
