Nerf Ganking Megathread

I am not answering your question because this question is a falacy.

Do not argue with a fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience

Gankers risk everything, 100%.

Ganking is the highest risk activity in the game.

You’re trying so desperately to build your troll argument on an asinine technicality.

There are more components to “risk” than just losing a ship or not. Not being successful in a gank is the primary source of risk to gankers. Likewise, for carebears like you, there is zero risk inherent in their activity (you can’t lose your ship to asteroids, or to a mission that you’ve fitted against after reading a guide), but there is calculable risk from interference from other players.

In the end, all risk can be defined as operating on a spectrum that ranges from some level of loss to some level of gain, essentially becoming an expected value/RoI calculation. Their ships might be a sunk cost, just like your mining crystals, but gankers, like everyone else, experience variable risk based on the circumstances of their environment.

Risk surely exists in relation to goal. Gankers already know they will lose their ship…sure…but the goal is to gank something in the process as nobody aggravates Concord and loses their ship just for the fun of it. So there is always the risk of not making that gank…and the gank is what the entire endeavour is all about, not the Concord response.

I’ve watched Safety in action. They are skilled in what they do…and I think that makes it look easy when it isn’t.

Oh man this post is so hilarious, basically inverting the risk between gankers/non-gankers. So now gankers are risking stuff and non-gankers are not. Either you are dumb, or you dont believe what you just said, or maybe trolling. I’d say probably trolling.

You’re the one inverting it, insofar as your only risk in highsec is from gankers…and you otherwise have zero risk at all. I mean…what are you ‘risking’ if there’s no gankers about ? Dying of sheer boredom watching a mining laser ?

I’m sure wildebeast would love there to be no lions. But then, wildebeast would not be wildebeast if there were no lions. They’d just be gelatinous blobs oozing across the plains.

Think you find most of the arguments and abuse stuff is on here, over my time anti-ganking I have got to know many gankers and they are ok people , had many in-game chats with them , even had chats with Aiko , although I find her hard to chat too.

Destiny was very helpful when I first started posting and learnt a lot from her.

I do find when gankers first open a chat with you they are slightly weary , understandable really, people can get hot under the collar . Once they know your not a raving lunatic they chat ok .

Keep asking question remember they love the game too we just play a different way.

And why do you think that changed?

A person was being bigoted, and you lashed out at all of the people arguing with him by calling those who were offended “snowflakes.” All because that person is a forum supporter of yours. And they don’t even play with you, so you basically did it for forum likes.

That was the point at which I stopped thinking of you as a respected frenemy, and started thinking of you as a rubbish human being. If you’re going to sell away your integrity at clearance prices, then, well, you’re going to be treated as a person without any integrity.

You should’ve kept your word when you publicly announced that you were quitting the forums. Then you would’ve retained a little bit of your dignity as someone who at least keeps their word.

Indeed, I had a long chat with Destiny at Amarr and she was really helpful. Also had a briefer chat with Aiko. I’ve bumped into or passed in system most of the people in chat.

Whatever happened to Gix ? Haven’t seen him around here for ages.

I never supported any one who attacks people in real, my opinion has no bearing on the matter, that’s ccp job , as for posting I have stopped make threads about my anti-ganking adventures as I indeed said , as every one got derailed and locked intentionally.

As for my eve experience you don’t know about my past only what this character has done, I’ve lived in low sec , taken part in one tournament, lived in a wh for a time , taken part in many battles, I’ve never been a really good PvP but I get by and it’s what I’ve spent most of my eve time doing. After my long break eve changed a lot and I do really need to spend time in low sec again.

As for being forced into condemning someone I’m not , I was not involved did not see it happen in game and not going to read hours of forum drivel.

No one forced you to condemn anyone, but not giving explicit support toward someone engaging in bigotry is a reasonable expectation.

You’ve made your bed, now you get to sleep in it. Even Aiko respected you before you did that.

Heyo.

HiSec/LowSec miner, builder, mission runner, DED runner, suicide ganker, and all around griefy guy who will ruin your day and laugh all the way to Jita:

I take risks all the time, and can (and have) adapted to a plethora of changes to the game. However, if they “deleted” HiSec “piracy” (whatever that means), yes, ofc I would protest - because it’s the deletion of an entire playstyle.

He risked losing his Thrasher for nothing. Suicide gankers do risk. It seems you take issue with the fact that they’re very good at calculating and mitigating those risks.

Aiko is correct, and you just agreed with her. If you remove the 100% spawn rate of CONCORD, an element of risk is introduced to ganking …

… by … your … own … logic…

Yeah, this was something that I noticed to. Carebears seem less able to adapt, more likely to complain, more likely to ask for their enemies to be nerfed, and more likely to be bitter vets. Obviously, you can find exceptions on both ends, but, generally speaking, it seems like hunters despise weakness and whining, and are much more willing and able to adapt to adversity.

In fact, this might be why Eve seems to forever be inching towards a kindler, gentler game. Rise once said that they know that got balance right when some players say they went too far, while others say they didn’t go far enough. The problem with that is that one side will generally avoid anything that looks like whining, and will try to adapt to the changes, while the other side does little to adapt, and will cry rivers about how unfair things are. So, if you’re trying to balance based off of the balance of feedback from these two groups, it’s going to constantly look like you need to go further.

And for anyone who needs to hear it -angrily persisting in using deprecated strats is not adaptation; it’s being an evolutionary holdout. You adapt by chasing new strats and opportunities.

You and Aiko spent a week trying to get me to read stuff and mailing me , people can fight there own battles in the real area , if Aiko had gone to ccp I would have respected ccps decision, I have never attacked anyone in real connected to eve .

Part of people coming into our corp is no personal attacks , it can happen and has but we stop. It’s hard with different cultures and how they sometime look upon females and other groups . I will always try for equality and fight for it where I can.

If I had witnessed anything or had been involved in any chat I would have said my piece, I even said to Aiko in a chat I don’t know how she puts up with some abuse even bearing in mind she is antagonising the situation , people go to far.

Okay, people will judge you by your killboard, and lots of players do care what their killboards look like, but it honestly doesn’t matter. Some people punch up, others punch down. Some people operate by bushido codes, others use every cheesedick strat in the book. Some people whore on every kill that they can (sometimes even including friendly caps/structures that they know they can’t save), others are dedicated logi bros who think it’s more important to do their jobs than whore.

Let me put it this way, I have nullblob toons with trillions of isk worth of kills and 90+ efficiency ratings -does that make me an elite PvP’er? Well, I’ll be the first to tell you that the answer is no. I do a lot of punching down, and will generally try to avoid fair fights like the plague.

As far as I’m concerned, killboards are a useful intel tool. Nothing more. And absolutely no one should let fear of a little red stand in the way of their fun, profit, and/or growth as players. However, if you just can’t get over it -use an unaffiliated alpha alt. In fact, I find that there is a special type of freedom in using anonymous pseudonyms.

This is patently untrue. I never contacted you, and responded to you exactly once, being polite but firm in my stance. Here’s the e-mail transcript for all to see:

You don’t really get it, and I don’t think you ever will get it. Your behavior directly contradicts your words above. The criticism of you isn’t that you’re a bigot, but that you have so little integrity that you would overlook bigotry if it comes from an ally just to retain their support. And in some regards, that’s actually worse.

Time isn’t going to heal this. An admission of wrongdoing might have, but it’s way too late for that now.

Also, let’s not concern ourselves with the risk of failing a gank, failing to secure the loot, losing haulers (depending on your loot scoop strat), and losing ships to anti-gankers outside of ganks (i.e. scraming you when you take gates).

You’re not arguing with it because you don’t know how to counter it. She has you backed in a corner, and rather than concede the point, change your mind, or put some effort into coming up with a counter point, you’re exclaiming it to be a fallacy.

Well, if you’re going to claim it’s a fallacy, at least say which one you think it is, so that we can then argue about whether or not it classifies as such.

Geez, you’d think that this is your first internet nerd fight.

Sorry I don’t get it , all I see is you two trying to drag me into an argument that’s not my concern.

Drac is an ally in as much as he shoots gankers , is on some of the channels I use and has helped me about as much as you have in the past . Seen him in space as much as I have seen you .

I don’t care really how you feel, I’m not in control of that , I just want the continuous harassment on any post I make , which eventually gets back to this subject, which you can’t seem to let go , don’t ever falsely accuse me of being sexist or any such thing again even by association.
