Nerf Ganking Megathread

whatever you imagine. getting rewarded from the government for helping to fight crime sounds be reasonable in my ears. getting paid for commiting crime by some criminals you are not even related to is… questionable at best. but of course, anyone is free to disagree.

Getting paid to distract the police while the crime empires commit a bank heist is completely reasonable for example.

The plot of Die Hard 3 comes to mind and not just the base setting but also that the entire operation was financed by some third party country or countries to influence gold prices or something, the point being if you put some thought in it you can come up with plenty of reasonable scenarios why the crime empires would pay bounty.

If for nothing else just to weaken the empires and as such to further their own power against them or to limit the empires this way to have less resources against the pirates.

The game is set 20,000 years in the future. Today’s standards won’t apply in 20,000 years from now any more than the standards of behavior in the dark ages apply to us now, so it’s impossible to have a concept of “some realism” and any choice, including those made already be CCP are just as likely as any others.

Yes you get lp from killing Helheim npc’s but if they kill you they force you to join their corp.

I assume you meant: Doomheim (https://evewho.com/corporation/1000001 aka the biomass corp).

Yes that is it thanks  Imagine how freaky it would be having some super dangerous npc around that can actually end your immortality.

Pirate factions. LP directly proportional to the victim’s bad standing with the various pirate corps. Why not.

We can already do this and a bully pod is still worth 10k isk in value to zkill

Among Us on Steam comes to mind

It’s a player driven market “sandbox” - and antigankers are free to collect taxes from the miners they protect. That’s what I do.

No you should get underhandedness and skullduggery points to spend at your local pirate outfiters.

Pirate Queer would be a title you have to earn, i am sure we could think of names for the other lvls within ganking

Wait, wut?

A ‘buff to AG’ like that would be a buff to ganking as it makes ganking more cost-efficient.

Such a change would allow a ganker to make back a percentage of the lost ship’s value back by ‘helping CONCORD’ on another alt.

The challenge of suggesting changes that directly reward PvP actions like ‘LP if you kill gankers’ is that those actions are much more easily done if the two characters work together for financial benefit.

Definitely not a mistake not only is r and n decently far but its using different fingers on different hands xD Unless Githany is a special ofc and uses the same finger.

Many people I thought type with one hand as the mug of coffee is in the other or do they allow their coffee to go cold and type with two hands.

Either way I took it as being pirate swag (merch etc)

I mean coffee is pretty important, can’t deni this. To sacrifice coffee for typing speed hmm…

It i stime that is important not the coffee… see what i diud there

But Coffee is also time, diudn’t see no.

Edit: O I see it now  Wake up, wake up and smell the ashes.

I appreciate an idea too, that doesn’t try to throw ganking under the bus. But I think you didn’t think this through. What would prevent me, the ganker, from using a 2nd DPS only to get on my own kills? Since I know when, where and with which DPS I will aggress, being the one to earn the reward seems trivial.

Now I can see myself being able to gank much more stuff since my own ship cost will be offset by collecting LP rewards and I will be able to gank stuff I wouldn’t be otherwise. In the end this would just add another system on the already very complicated criminal mechanics.
