It’s funny how me pointing out that the only reason you’re here is to provide NO actual proof or reason that ganking needs nerfing can upset you so much. It’s very clear that when someone gets ganked and their reaction is to complain about ganking mechanics that they probably aren’t the best player to be offering suggestions on how to change things.
Top notch thread Jones. Unfortunately resources such as this, e-uni wiki, and even outright telling someone how to avoid ganks isn’t enough. While I applaud the effort that went into this, people such as Jigga are never going to learn and only serve for us to laugh at for being SO blatantly against ganking that they will always find issue with it. So I’ll bow out and let your thread be a holy place of salt and tears that I glance at every once in a while.
I disagree. I’ve dealt with many players over the years, and based on how they act and what they write, can with a decent degree of reliability tell when someone is totally entrenched, or is open to different perspectives. I think this person is in fact open to other perspectives, though it might take some time to come to the entire set of realizations that are necessary to grasp the game’s system of player interaction. It kind of feels that some people unduly pounced on him even after things cooled down, pushing him into a corner and forcing him to lash out. That probably wasn’t necessary.
What I do have an issue with is some of the sexist/discriminatory stuff he’s said over a series of posts. He needs to nip that in the bud real fast.
I a lot of the times say things as such but hand on my heart I have no malice or bad intentions behind it reaseon being i just cant. they are just empty words. If it helps drum rolllllllll
my best friend is a lesbian and one of the nicest people who I have ever come to know in my xx years my ex house mate mark who is gay. one thing i learnt about the above folk is they are the most genuine upfront and straight people you will ever come to know. can be a bit annoying with their crude bluntness but its a good thing.
glad we are able to wrap this up a second time once again there was no actual intention to hurt any ones feelings its just a little bit of banter and fun. you give some you take some its a healthy balance of both.

I think personal attacks are just always that bad. Being discriminatory or not. They are literally used to kill the discussion, because they lead only to off topics.
I disagree that being homophobic/racial/redhair insults is worse than being non-disciminatory insults. They are just a way to vent the hurt of being wrong on the messenger and/or hide yourself the truth that you were wrong by stating it’s because of the mesenger.
Personally I skipped all his posts when they started with insults, like I do most of the time. I forgot to report him though. But to say the truth, he’s not worse than those who insult people by telling them to “calm down, miner”. It’s just as insulting, it’s just used for the same goal and the same reason. You can’t accept people to insult other this way, and not accept him to use homophobic insults. Either you accept insults, or you don’t.
edit : to be clear it’s the same for people who insult gankers by eg claiming gankers are all idiots or whatever. Insulting a group is insulting all members of the groups. That’s what the forum are rotten with, people who lack a way to satisfy themselves so they need to insult other people over the internet. Those forums don’t need moderators, they need psychological health.
No, it really isn’t. Maybe you weren’t exposed to discrimination in your life, I don’t know. But telling someone that they suck at a game is in a completely different league from racism, sexism, et cetera. People have rarely gotten hurt for one thing, and many have actually died for the other.

You are entitled to have wrong opinions. But I suggest you take some time to consider how fortunate you are that none of those insults are things you have to deal with in the rest of your life, and how other people might not be so lucky.

No, you are wrong. People literally can die because of verbal harassment. It does not need to be based on discrimination.
Maybe you weren’t exposed to friends who were pushed to suicide in your life, I don’t know. But saying insults or harassment is less important when it’s not based on discrimination, is just wrong.
As @Anderson_Geten is talking about non-discriminatory verbal harassment (versus discriminatory harassment), you created a strawman by replacing ‘harassment not based on discrimination’ with harassment of the form ‘you suck at this game’.
And even just by the fact that he is talking numbers that would be irrelevant in any case, since the comparison of raw numbers would make no sense anyhow. “Shooting people in the head makes less deaths than cars, so we should forbid cars and not shooting people in the head.”
So claiming "Do you really want X " assumes I want that irrelevant and nonsensical X in the first place, which is a troll.

well ganking it self shouldnt be removed it is a part of the game. if anything they could just make it where concord shows up faster. without gankers the prices of stuff will not just sky rocket the price of bardges will either sky rocket or drop way where it not worth it anymore.
people need to learn how to play the game and not keep complaining about it. people that wana keep getting rid of this is the people that dont wana die all the time and they wana just afk all the time. this is not fair on others that like to do it for fun. also if ccp did this the amount of isk killed vs made would just go to all hell.
