I’m schizoaffective. I see and hear things that arent there, and I have wild mood swings of both depression and mania. I can’t overcome the hallucinations, but I can choose to log off when I notice I am having a wild swing.
Again, you agree to certain rules when you accept the eula/tos upon account creation, and continue to support every time you log in. You suspended any rights you think you’re entitled to by electronically signing a contract for service access.
You talk about free speech, but then say you arent talking about free speech. Either way, you seem to need to be told that freedom of speech is between you and government, not you and private businesses that you sign a contract with.
What party is that? Let me guess, you think you can determine my political stance simply by disagreement with you. Good for you, assume more.
So triggered that I went through thousands of posts to find something to attack you personally on, right? Your mistake is thinking that you’re smarter than anyone else. You’re not. You don’t have to use tv talking points to be talking about the same subject as tv talking point heads. Clearly I am able to read and comprehend the content and context of your statements.
Yet again you fail to mount a capable argument and choose instead to go for personal attacks that you imagine are going to hurt me somehow.
No posts there since then, and instead you came to this thread to try to insult me. If you can’t stand on your argument, at least have the integrity to admit to your own actions. You flagged everything I said, and only some of it got hidden. Then you came to this thread and went through thousands of posts to find something to poke at.
Do you just not comprehend the fact that you got shut down, or the fact that your tactics are exactly the same as the ones you’re arguing against?
oh for sure. These forums are no better than reddit in that regard. The only toxicity I have seen with eve is from these forums.
I just recently joined Goonswarm and I love it as well. A lot of good people.
People go on about tether being an unfair advantage to gankers…but it is equally an advantage to non-gankers due to tether being practically instant. That means that if gankers arrive in Oipo when I have my alt mining, I can just warp to one of the corp structures and don’t even have to dock.
As far as ganking is concerned, the only place I’ve seen tether being used to their advantage is Aiko’s perch at Uedama. Which is obviously strategically placed to be close to the Sivala gate. But all the many times I’ve warped past there I’ve only ever once seen gankers en masse at the tether. So its actual use is over-stated.
Broadly speaking, I want tether removed because it makes gameplay stale by increasing safety across the board. I do not have a response to Frostpacker because I don’t think I understand the issue he raises. Things have changed since I had to haul things in a freighter, but by the sound of it I would just hire some folks friendly to me to ensure my safe arrival and departure if I had to be concerned about NPCs.
Well, I make extensive use of tether as a multiboxer, so it’s definitely important to me.
Of course, it does also offer safety to potential prey as well. I’ll sometimes try ganking guys sitting on an NPC station undock, because it looks like they’re outside the docking radius, I hope that I can kill them before they can react, and/or I’m hoping they make the mistake of trying to warp off instead of redocking. It’s risky, but it does sometimes work. I have absolutely no chance of ganking someone who is tethered, however. Doesn’t matter if they’re paying attention or make mistakes or not. I mean, I could try to bump them off tether with my hauler or something. But, at that point, I’d rather look for other targets.
Ganking came from gang killing according to google; however, I am not entirely sold that a one-sided battle with something that can’t shoot back is real PvP. I mean if you want to twist it to that is okay.
My logic flows as deep as your thinking ganking taking multiple ships to kill one ship that can’t shoot back is real PvP. There is zero counterplay to ganking. You say run, well I fail to see how that is competition. We don’t have to agree on it Shipwreck, I am fine with that. When I think PvP I see groups of people, or solo players fitting for battle engaging one another and exchanging interactions. And how you fail to see that there is no exchange in high sec ganking is beyond me, seems so very simple, almost baffling easy.
Look up PvP in google, don’t type in anything special, just “PVP Definition”, and see how many links you have to read before someone mentions a market. See you in a year.
I googled it and it doesn’t match what you are saying. It matches what I am saying and none of them mention BS markets or rock mining or resource harvesting at all. ZERO of them. PvP is fighting between players and one is victorious. I can get on board stretching this out in some areas, but in your logic The Grandprix we have annually is a PvP event. Doesn’t that sound dumb as hell? Maybe it is just me, and our view are simply different on what real PvP is.
Agenda, I am just looking for some good PvP in the forums as we go at it Shipwreck
Maybe we should make a game called don’t undock and CCP goes broke. Sounds like fun, we need a reason for people to undock.
And again, Altara I will ask you to go to EveOnline.com and point out where it say 100% PvP only game, come spend money and lose it immediately.
No, what you have is a grand plan that is looking more and more like there will be no meeting in the middle, and ganking will simply be pushed out of the game entirely. And it will thrive, because there is plenty of space for PvP in WH, Low, Null.
Art of War said it best,“Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.” I guess that sums ganking up pretty well. The weakest most vulnerable players in the game are the gankers. I guess I just never connected the dots.
I don’t even know what your point is here, if you want to call me a name that is fine, I am not going to cry to a ISD, it won’t hurt I can take it. So just say it, completely fine here.
Round in circles we go again. You’ve already had the ‘no true Scotsman’ fallacy explained to you. But as with everything else in this thread you just ignore and rehash. It’s like a gramophone record that has got stuck.
Eve isn’t a 100% PvP game because it contains PvE elements. You can choose to engage those PvE elements if you like, but the PvP elements of the game can choose you, too. That’s a thing PvE players have to prepare for, typically by flying something they can afford to lose.
I mean something they are a waste and sometimes they are simply circles. But once in a while, I might pick up something, and it is worth it to me.
And it isn’t that I ignore everything in the thread, there are fundamentally some different things I think. And they don’t match how you think, and I believe it is okay or should be anyhow.
And the repeat is on both sides, you can’t come up with meet-in-the-middle ideas but love to shoot down any idea that is mentioned. You don’t think there is any issues, but there are issues. I can go on, but you see how we see two different views of the game.
Let us hope that serenity is successful with the test, it launches with no issues and people love it and they bring it to Tranquility.
I’ve mined in Eve for almost a year now, and have never ever been ganked while mining. It is easy to avoid being ganked. You don’t have to learn the Schrodinger wave equation or tensor calculus.
Yesterday Aiko ganked some miner in a barge in Isanamo…and then half an hour later ganked the exact same miner in the exact same location in their replacement barge. It takes a special kind of stupid for this to happen ! Anyone with a brain would first of all not mine in Isanamo in the first place, as it is one of the main ganker haunts. It is easy to find a low traffic system to mine in. I know of systems just a few warp gates away from Isanamo where you can mine all day and never see Aiko.
You keep saying you are ‘not sure’. Well, I mine and I am 100% sure. There is loads of counterplay to ganking. Most people are just too lazy ( or AFK ) to be bothered taking a few simple precautions.
